I wanted to set up online banking so i can view things to make sure money is in there when it should be etc as my partner now has gone overdrawn in the past on 3 different cards by accident and now we are in such a mess that they have all been passed on to debt collecters so i thought online banking might be better fo us but he seems to think it is not safe and doesnt trust it, he he right? ive not heard much about it tbh so thought i would ask on here on your views on it? thanks

I have it and its a lifesaver for me! Can always check how much is in etc at any time without having to phone the bank and be on hold for ages! I've never had any problems with it, i'd definitely recommend! :)

I use it with Abbey (or Santander, whatever they're called now :dohh:) and it works well for me. Never had a problem with security at all. Some banks do take a while to update (though seems to be more of a problem with our US bank accounts!!!) but the one I use is updated instantly at least 99% of the time and really handy. :)

xx

o i could not live with out online banking paying bills online is a lifesaver!!! you dont have to write out cheques, not to mention you can set up bill payments to go in every month so you dont forget, and i can see if i have spent too much money its awesome!! and as for if its safe i have never had an issue. and if something were to happen (very doubtful) im sure the bank would fix it.

I check my bank everyday too :)

I dont think I could lived without my internet banking. I use it for both my accounts and its a gem! I log on near on every day see whats going in and coming out and tranferring money is so much more easier!!!

I love internet banking! I can spy on my OH and see how much he spends in Subway every week, grrrrrr!!!

i love internet banking aswell, im on it every night.

Most banks have very well protected websites. We've been online banking for years now, couldn't imagine life without it. Setting my bills to automatic payments means I can't forget to pay them!

I used to work for a bank, and my dad was scared of setting up online banking. Here is what I told him: "when you are in the bank, and they are on the computer looking at your account, where does the information come from? It is already on the internet. They are keeping it safe there already, so you might as well use it to keep track of your financial info." He had almost gotten into overdraft, and now he checks it every night. My bank even sends messages to my phone that I have set up as text messages if I go under a certain amount I have set for myself. It also alerts me on large transactions such as deposits (my check coming in), or withdrawals (BETTER be me spending my money and not some nut-job). I hope they have text alerts across the pond like they do here :D

I check my bank everyday too and have never had any problems with it! xx

I use it and love it- dead useful, especially when you have those 'what on earth did I spend it on?!' moments

Online banking is great! Saves time, and never had a problem with security. Bank sites are very safe. I'm with Barclays and they send you out a card reader so you have to have your card to hand when you login and it gives you a unique code to enter so you have that extra security.

I online bank with Natwest and I dont have anything bad to say about it xx
