Opinions/Help?

I am very conflicted. I'm adopted, my adoptive mother is telling me to give my baby my adopted name since my birth mother has never been there for me. But, I'm not sure if i want to do that or give him my birth last name which I go by to some people. I keep getting told to do what I feel is right but I'm not sure what I think is right.

i guess this is a difficult situation and only you can make this decision.
if it was me, (and im only going by what your wrote) i would give my baby my adoptve name. for me, id want to have my baby have the name of the family that gave me a family, youve said your real mum has never been there for you. i could also see how your adoptive mum could be hurt, as she has looked after you, while your real mum hasnt.
for me a parent is someone who loves a child and is there day in day out for a child, not dna. just my opinion.

but this little baby is your baby and dont let anyone tell you what to do, do whatever feels right for your little one

I agree with lemontree. I too would give my adoptive name as its the name of my family who raised me. Although you shouldnt be forced into it. Could you not make it double barrelled or have one surname as a middle name? Xx
