Hello Everyone!

Just a bit worried about ectopic/miscarriage/something being wrong....especially due to bleeding and cramps!

I'm a bit nervous because yesterday at 9dpo I got a pretty strong BFP (LP only about 11 days this month according to FF chart) . However, just 36 hours before it was a BFN (maybe a squinter if I'm being generous). Urine was not diluted either time.

Is this normal?

I've been brown spotting since 4dpo, then had a gush of red blood (sorry TMI) on 7dpo and have had more brown spotting and brown watery discharge (eww sorry seriously TMI) everyday since then. Also, have had cramps today and lower back pain since 7dpo.

Is it normal for this to happen? That line went from NOTHING to SOMETHING in a very short time!! My friends have me horrified that the HCG is increasing quickly so perhaps its ectopic? But then when googling it seems that ectopics increase slowly? And yikes with the bleeding...im confused!! should I be worried?? Maybe I'm just being paranoid since the miscarriage in January....

Sorry for the long post!! Absolutely any input or advice or your experiences would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you guys!

(the 1st pic shows the top test from 7dpo the bottom test is from 36 hours later)

(the second pic shows 7dpo test, then 36 hour later test, then the test from today which is about 9.5dpo)

Hard to say. I had a miscarriage about 5 months ago and it started off with lots of cramps at 7dpo. I had cramping for a week and then at 10dpo I started to spot brown and I spotted everyday until 18dpo when it turned into red blood and I bled for the next 6 weeks!!! I don't know what to tell you. You can't tell what the hcg level is by the HPT. Your's is positive but it is not that dark.

Your cramping and bleeding could just be implantation. If you are worried, go to your doctor. They can run blood tests and see what your hcg levels are doing and reassure you. I know it is difficult not knowing what is going on, but really your doctor can help and in reality, only time will tell. Good luck.

Hi hun, your tests were taken probably before implantation (1st one) then after implantation so I wouldn't worry at all about speed of change. Implantation usually happens around 7dpo and until then no HCG is released. Cramping is normal- especially in this week. The bleeding and spotting are not so normal. You obviously could have had implantation bleeding but I would speak to a doc or midwife and get their advice. Unless your cramps have you doubled up in pain they shouldn't be too much of a concern but it depends how much spotting/ bleeding you're having with them. Whereabouts is your pain?

Thank you both so much! Just mild cramps that are a bit less than AF ones! I WISH i could book a dr appt but i recently found out my health insurance doesnt cover pregnancy/delivery! grrr!

Might have to make a stop in anyway though! Thanks again girls!

There are always loopholes with insurance. If you go to the doctor complaining about abdominal discomfort and pain, the appointment should then be covered. It all just depends on what you call it, so don't call it a "pregnancy" or "pre-natal" appointment. You can tell the doc about your symptoms and explain that the bleeding is unusual for a period. After speaking with your doctor, you could describe your worries about possible ectopic pregnancy and what you should notice if it does happen. Just a suggestion. I've worked in a doctor's office and this happens all the time. Pregnancy is like a diagnosis, but it's different to insurance if you go in with symptoms that could also be something else. Just fyi.

And I had lots of cramping the week before, the week of, and the week after my BFP. I don't think that the cramping is uncommon at all. I'm not sure about what to say about bleeding. Perhaps you could take vitamins and eat the way you would being pregnant. If it continues into next month then perhaps worry about it then. From what I understand, spotting type bleeding isn't anything to worry about. Sorry I'm not a ton of help. Good luck! :flower:
