Our DS1 is Lucas James. We have chosen Kody Jai for DS2. Opinions appreciated please

Lucas James sounds handsome and classic. Kody Jai seems a little more trendy to me. I like Kody. I like Jai. But for me, it doesn't seem to be as traditional as Lucas James.

I like it it - I do think it's "modern & cool" - but I prefer that over traditional names personally.

Lucas and Kody go together very well. However I'm a stuffy old person and would prefer Cody.

I also prefer the spelling "Cody" and if you're using Jai as a MN, the more traditional spelling of Cody balances the name better because Jai is a bit of a modern/trendier MN than a classic...with the K, it seems like the name is "trying too hard" IMO. Cody and Lucas go well together!

I prefer Cody too. It's my other half who wants the K at the start. If I can't convince him I'll have to try get the middle name changed to Jay at least

It does seem a bit of a contrast with your older son's name - whether that's a good or a bad thing depends on your preference.

I have to admit I'm not keen on Jai, I read it as rhyming with 'pie'. I like Jay much better. Kody/Cody is nice though.

Love the name and like some others would spell it the traditional "Cody". Love Jai too.

I'm with a few others on the pronunciation of Jai. Since the name Kai has become popular my first instinct was to read it as Jye(Jie?) instead of Jay. Kody Jay (pronounced the way you're intending) sounds much better :)

I agree Lucas James seems classic, Kody Jai is a nice name, not sure if it goes well with Lucas James though. I'm talking first and middle name, but personally I think the first names go well but maybe another classic traditional middle name for Kody? Like Kody Matthew (to me) sounds better with Lucas James because it's a trendy first name for both and classic middle name for both
Just my opinion :flower:

I like it but I don't think it goes with Lucas James very much especially with the spellings Kody and Jai as opposed to Cody and Jay

im not keen on the modern name with the classic names... but I like traditional timeless names

I like Jay though
