Hi, as the title says I was due to trigger for my last ever iui at 10 last night but did an opk at 8 which was positive. I had a negative opk at 11 yesterday morning so although I know the peak was at some point yesterday I don't know when! My iui appointment isn't until tomorrow afternoon and I know the clinic is really busy so won't be able to see me earlier. I've been considering canceling but to be honest, I've been on this path for so long now and this was to be my last attempt, I'm not sure if I could face another run at it, does that sound awful? I've so wanted to have a sibling or my lo and now I just want to get on with being with him while he's still wee.
I tend to have ovulation pains so am thinking that I should hold off to see if I feel it today and then see if my appointment is within 24 hours. I so believe that what's for you won't go by you, what do you think?

I thought O came 24-36 hours after your lh peak? Then the egg still needs to travel down the tubes and sits in uterus for how long? It's frustrating, if you feel like it'd be a waste of money, cancel. You don't want to try again next month? I'm sorry it's so difficult, I can relate to your frustration!

Hello! The clinic should take your OPK into consideration and schedule the insemination 36 hours later accordingly. All the more reason if they are busy! Call and insist! Most clinics have a IUI and IVF hotline for that kind of last minute rescheduling.

I had two IUIs and both times I ovulated before the trigger shot. I called the clinic's 'hotline' first thing next morning and they rescheduled based on my OPK results, and told me not to trigger.

General note with fertility clinics - BE PROACTIVE!!! No one told me to do OPK tests and check for ovulation. If I hadn`t I would have triggered for nothing 24 hours later and the insemination would have been a day too late. Ask lots of questions, write them down as you think of them. Insist on more info and details. Those stupid places are always so busy it`s easy to be almost shoved out the door before you even have time to think of your questions.

good luck :hugs:

Thank you both for your advice. In the end I was still having ovary pain when I went to bed and at 2 a.m when I woke up to pay a visit, it was gone when a got up in the morning. So I went ahead with the original appointment. I know I could have pushed to have it earlier but had made a work appointment around my iui one and arranged child care around both, it would have been difficult to change without explanation.

Vermeil, can I ask if you used progesterone after your iui's? I haven't before and always end up with a shortens cycle when I stimulate, far to short for implantation, my norm is a 12 - 14 day luteal phase, when I stim it's only 8 - 10. This time I pushed for progesterone, worth a try.

Progesterone helps your lining too. I take it and feel it helped me carry (even if only ~9 weeks). I'm wishing you :dust:

sorry I didn`t see your reply sooner rags! No I didn`t take progesterone for my two IUIs. Just the hormones and trigger shot (err which I never got to). I did for my first IVF though, still taking it and estradiol.
