Ordered some OPK's...now what?

I ordered 50 OPK's and 20 HCG tests from Amazon and they should be delivered sometime today. I have never used opks before so can anyone give me advice on what to do, when to test, how often, etc? Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks

I too have just started OPKS. I do know you don't need to use FMU because it can cause a false positive and you don't test too late at night(11/12). A true positive OPK your line will be as dark as the control line(google images of positive OPKS). I do know drinking fluids won't affect result. I recommend holding your urine for at least 2-3hrs. My mistake with that is I held it for only 30-45 mins and didn't even get a control line. Follow instructions carefully. With mine I could dip it or pee on it. I did realize by peeing on it the results took longer to read vs dipping only took just under a min. I would test 2xday. And since this is your first time I would start testing immediately. As far as BD goes start DTD every other day as soon as you start seeing that first pink line. That first pink line means you're getting fertile. And DTD every other day until you're 2 days past a positive incase you O later than expected.
As far as the HPT it's best to use FMU and wait until you're late because the sensitivity of the test can vary. Don't be disappointed if you get a BFN. For some women it can take longer to get a BFP. It takes time for your hormones to build up. Well that's all the info I have for you. HTH

That was a good breakdown above, Angel! Personally I start using the OPKs starting at CD10 and I will start to get a faint second line 2-3 days before I get the solid line that is the same as the test line(+). I start at CD10 because I have a 27ish day cycle, so it may be different for you. Something to remember is that the OPKs are testing the hormone, not whether you've ovulated yet. So a positive OPK means start bd'ing, as you'll likely ovulate within 12-24 hours (sometimes even 36 hours depending on the OPK brand) after.
