Sorry for the vent ladies,I have been so upset:cry:
We had to put our faithful friend of 11yrs to rest yesterday due to internal bleeding,I am so heartbroken:cry::cry::angel:

Goodbye my friend xxxx

I am so sorry for your loss of this very special member of your family. It's never easy to lose a pet, and I can empathize with your grief. As a mom to 5 furkids who are getting along in age I dread that day... Take all the time you need to grieve and know that you gave him/her a great life and did the most kind selfless act by alleviating his/her pain and allowing him/her to pass in peace. Take care.

I'm sooo soooo sorry for your loss, it's just an awful thing to go through at any time. It's something that you can't explain to a non pet owner but yes it's heart breaking.

Take it easy.

HUGS!

so sorry its an absolulty heartbreaking decision to have to make and losing a pet is so hard, its takes a while to get over and they are always missed xxx

I'm so sorry for your sorrow - it's never easy, but I'm sure on some level you know that you made the right decision for your pup. They can't make the decision for themselves and need us to help. It really is a tragedy that our pets can't live as long as we do, but each one brings something so special to that window of our lives. Last summer, we had to put down our 12.5 year old black and tan coonhound, Heidi. It was soooo difficult, but in our grief we focused on all the fun we had with her and the joy she left us with. We took some comfort in the fact that we could help her in the end when she was not well ... and no longer enjoying life herself.

I'm thinking about you!

Very sorry for your loss. We are very much animal lovers at our house.

I am so sorry. Your dog looks adorable. I love the way labs look at you as if they know EXACTLY what you're thinking. I have a chocolate one and she is my best girl in the world.

He was a lucky boy. Stay strong and in time you will remember all the great things. For now, you do what you need to do to get through.

Thinking of you
:hugs:

thanks everyone,I am just an emotional wreck at the moment. We loved him dearly x

..I found this poem that was passed along to me a few years ago when I had to put on of my own dogs to sleep. I hope it will bring you the comfort that it brought me during your time of grief.

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

i am so sorry for your loss and know firsthand what you are going through. BThis one is my fav:

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
