Ouch! Painful Boobies!!!

As the title says, my breasts are absolutely killing me, which is strange as I've been bf'ing for nearly 5 weeks, with almost no pain apart from the first day or two. But now suddenly for the last day or two my milk production has gone up through the roof and I'm leaking completely through breast pads almost half hour after I've put in a new one???

Plus they are killing me as they are filling up so quickly...

Halle has put on 10 ozs this week, so I know she's still feeding ok, but why has this suddenly happened now? I've never had any luck with expressing and suddenly I can pump out 10 ozs without even trying.... why????!!!

I'm so uncomfortable.

Hun i'm sorry i have no answers but i'm going to hide in a corner and see what replies you get as i get this alot and ouch don't they hurt when they are filling up, i was stood in the middle of asda clutching my boobs today whilst they filled up i must of looked a right sight lol, Harley has gone from 7.9 to 8.3 scince friday and is feeding longer so possibly this could be a reason as to why my body is making so much milk.

Has she had a growth spurt recently? I got like this after Kaya had one, it soon settles down again.

Could you express just a little to relieve some of the pain and not empty a whole boob. If you always empty boobs when you express your body will just keep making more milk - vicious circle. The Kellymom website has loads of very good advice on all aspects of breastfeeding - I found it very useful when I was nursing.
