My rainbow baby Charlie is here
he was born on 7th may at 7lb11oz and is a little miracle I feel so blessed to have him
So here goes - Sunday I went in for induction, the first two pessarys didn't do much so they said they wouldn't do anything else for 24 hours. I've had severe polyhydramnios and on Monday lunch time the consultant decided they would try and break my waters. Omg it was like a tidal wave literally gushing out all over the two doctors trousers (they had to get changed) and the floor was literally soaked. Apparently I had 3-4 Litres of amniotic fluid! I had an epidural a few hours later but this only worked on my left side. By the time I got to 10cm dilated 12 Hours later I thought I was gonna die lol I felt every contraction in my right side and I was getting so frustrated because the midwives kept saying we will top up your epidural but it was just paralysing my left leg but nowhere else. At 10cm I was told that Charlie's head wasn't engaged properly and I had an hour to push otherwise I'd have to go to surgery. I pushed and pushed and got him down a bit but not enough. His heart rate was great throughout he was very cosy in there. I was then taken to theatre and Charlie was born with forceps. I had an episiotomy which is killing me, he was back to back, had the cord round his neck and I had a post partum haemorrhage. He had some fluid on his chest and we had to stay in hospital as he was in an incubator a few times but it was nothing serious and he soon coughed up the mucous and didn't require any antibiotics etc.
So that's my birth story and after a stressful pregnancy I knew the birth would be the same! All worth it though, I can't stop staring at him and can't believe he's here, we actually did it
Here are some pics of my little fella xx
