I have been invited to a 30th Birthday Party (and cant get out of it!)

It is hollywood themed and basically we all have to glamourous ourselves for the red carpet! however its in feb and i will be at 33/33 weeks pregnant

How the hell am i going to look "glamourous" and manage to wear a great evening gown or something with a huge bump!

Any ideas ladies?

Present day hollywood? I'd check out pics of pregnant celebs and copy the look. I'd consider it a personal favour if you chose to dress like M.I.A. while she was pregnant....

I think a white classic Marilyn Monroe white dress cause it puffs out after the boobs and will complement the bump won't be tight fitting in the bump area and maybe have a nice piece to go over it if you live in cold weather and shes hollywood for sure you will be sexy and classy at same time!

Try going to the mall and just trying on dresses and seeing which can fit when it comes closer to time.
There's LOTS of empire waist dresses out there that are very glamorous (and actually not aimed toward pregnant women!)

Plus many department stores can alter dresses for you if need be.

This is what I plan on doing for both my baby showers (one when 30 weeks another when I am 32 weeks)

Is it the birthday of a good friend? Because if she's a GOOD friend, she should be glad you just showed the hell up. I'm just saying.

They do make dressy maternity clothes. But frankly, i'd be none too pleased having to buy a special sparkly dress for this one occassion, especially if this is going to be your last or only pregnancy.

ETA: I would feel differently if it was a wedding, or even a funeral. But a birthday party? Get over yourself. (to the birthday girl)

Asda have a lovely dress for only £18 that you could easily glam up hollywood styley...

Wow - that dress is stunning, and what a bargain!!! Team it up with some very blinging costume jewellry and OTT hair style (maybe a hair piece) and you will be very red carpet but still maintaining comfort and fuller purse!!:happydance:

Asos usually carry some really lovely maternity evening wear so you should be able to find something on there.

I'd try the Jan sales... I'm sure there will be lots of evening dresses on sale as New years is over...

Also you could team it with a faux fur stole/shrug for the added glamour and warmth!

hmm that does look like a tall person dress definitely....

you could always do a demi moore and go naked :haha: although im not sure even demi would have done that on a red carpet!!

empire line dresses are very good,
something along these lines, and you can prob get away with a non maternity one if theres enough fabric in the dress so can wear it after... prob best to try for a knee length or petite one tho if you want to look taller without heels!

I know what you mean... I'm only 5ft 2 but I wore a maxi dress for the first time in my life a couple of months ago as it was the first ever time they've suited me! I'm presuming it's because of the bump so the bigger it is the better it will look I say :)

They have a similar dress which is shorter for only £16. It's not maternity but the cut of it would be easy to pull off with a bump. Comes in red or black ... hang on...
