In August I found out that I had an ectopic pregnancy. I was on birth control pills so it was an accident. I was bleeding for about 10 days. I knew something wasn't right. I was in so much pain that I couldn't move. I could not believe it. They gave me 2 injections of methotrexate to dissolve the pregnancy. In September I kept having right sided pelvic pain. I seen my GYN and I had to get another ultrasound and that's when I found out that I had a cyst on my right ovary. The cyst is 6.8 cm.

I had to get another ultrasound to see if the cyst got smaller or bigger. The results were that I have gallstones, Hydronephrosis, and my cyst did not change in size. So my GYN referred me to an uro/GYN surgeon to remove the cyst and a general surgeon to remove the gallbladder. I met with the GYN surgeon on the 25th. He looked through my medical record, asked me questions about the symptoms I was having, and did a pelvic exam. He said he also think that I could have endometriosis. When he did the pelvic exam, he put his hand right on my right side and it hurt really bad. He said that he felt the cyst and that he would have to remove my right ovary and the cyst. He said it is still a complex mass since it is a large solid fluid filled. He mentioned that he do not know if it is cancerous or not. The only way to be able to tell is to do surgery. He asked if I wanted any more kids and I hesitated, but my husband was like no LOL!! Dr. said that he could do a tubal ligation if I wanted it. He came in with a paper so that I can sign it to have the tubal ligation done the same day. So Of course I did. I do not want to get the depo shot, or be on birth control pills. I was on birth control pills for 12 years in between pregnancies. I was on the depo shot for a year and I found out that I could not get any longer due to it would cause my bones to be weak. I think I am making a good decision to get all of this done in the same day.

The GYN did not want to schedule me to have surgery since he wants me to get everything done in 1 day. (removal of right ovary with cyst, tubal ligation, and gallbladder removal) I will go see the other surgeon on the 31st. When the surgeon schedule me a day to remove my gallbladder, I will call to the GYN office immediately to tell him what day and he would do it on the same day hopefully. He said that he would make himself available for me.

I will post back on what I will find out on Monday. I am just so scared right now. I can't believe that this is happening to me. I am sorry I know this is soooo long.

Oh dear, how stressfull!! But cancer? Wouldn't they have done an ultrasound of the ovaries in August for the ectopic (they've always included ovarian ultrasounds when doing a pelvic in my case)? If they saw nothing then, would cancer really grow thaaaat fast and then stop changing in size between Sept and Oct? So I would remain hopeful it's just hormonal with the pregnancy termination, but still...what a mess, and such a bad run of luck within a few months:hugs:. Best of luck!

6.8 isnt really that big. Mine is 14cm....

They should know if its cancer by doing a CA125 and a MRI on it.

I am going to remain hopeful since a lot of cysts is benign. Thank you Septie! OnErth&InHvn, wow how long have you had your cyst? Do you have constant pain from your cyst? The Dr told me that the CA125 is a really sensitive test. He said he rather just take it out and send it to the lab. Are you going to get yours removed?

I just received a phone call from a nurse from the hospital. My pre-surgical testing is November 22nd and the surgery is December1. She said that I would have to come to the hospital On November 30 so that they can monitor since I have asthma and hypertension. I am surprised they got me in that soon since usually it take a few months to get a surgery with the GYN. I am happy that the 2 surgeons worked everything out on trying to get me in sooner.
