Overdueness

Hi Girlies!

Im feelin a bit shy about posting in the March Mums thread as Im not on much during the day usually (trying DESPERATELY to keep busy and... upright!! ) but I NEED someone to commiserate with me... Im 4 days overdue and seriously heading towards crisis mode... Im LOSING my mind!!! What can I do to get this lo to show his/her face!?!?!!????

Im off to the hosp in half an hour for ANOTHER round of fetal monitoring - Im so desperate Im even thinking of telling them I havent felt Mini much since yesterday to get them to DO sth!!! Horrible of me, I know...

Anyway, shout to anyone else overdue and goin' bonkers...

I am officially overdue today so I can join you! Like you I have been trying to keep motivated and busy throughout the day. I have also been turning the house phone off and avoiding facebook so I dont keep havng to answer the 'anything happening yet' question!!

The thing that seems to keep me going at the min is my sweep booked on the 31st! I have a feeling that it wont work but I am still hopeful!!

Aww hon, I'm sorry Is Reto up for any ?!?! Might be worth a go if he is at this stage - although Elm keeps telling me it's better if it's taken orally!!

Thinking of you, hope it goes well at the docs, give us an update when you get back. Sending you lots of labour in the meantime xxx

Swiss miss don't be shy posting on here and certainly don't panic!!!! I am 5 days overdue - this is my second baby and everyone (midwife included) were convinced I'd be early for a variety of reasons. In some ways that has made being overdue worse as I was expecting him to be here by now! That being said, now i am OD, I have just resigned myself to the fact I could well go to my induction date and since I have got that clear in my head I feel better.

Is this your first hun? At the end of the day for whatever reason little bubs is obviously just not quite ready to made their grand entrance, in a few days they will be here and this waiting period will pail into significance. I was 12 days late with my first - it's not easy but there is not a lot else you can do. I have even resorted to playing my husbands XBOX for goodness sake!

Awww, thx girlies!! Celine, it is my first, so I guess I should have been prepared to go over... I keep telling myself the more days go by, the greater the chances that bubs shows up 'tomorrow' cause I think Ive read that a really low percentage of women go all the way to 42 wks... But the thought of goin' that long is KILLIN me!! *sigh*
Ill post again when Im back from the hosp - I hope they'll give me SOME hope!!

Obviously I'm far from overdue hun but I just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you. I know it's tough but baby will arrive when he or she is ready, you've obviously made your tummy a very comfy place for him / her!!!! Have you tried all the usual suspects - I read about your stair climbing antics yesterday!!! - have you tried some sort of spicy food? You probably have lol!

My edd was last Sunday. I know it's tough hun - the things I find most difficult are the constant 'any news?' messages from wellmeaning friends and family, and the fact that there are so many other girls who have their babies already and who weren't as far along as me! I keep telling myself that my baby is the best possible place he can be right now, and that he'll show up when he's good and ready. xx

I'm 40+4 today and going a little crazy considering there are absolutely no signs whatsoever that LO is coming. I have a final check on monday and then either induction or c-section on tues/wed. So really, that keeps me going, I can see the finish line.

Hang in there hun, many first time moms are over and well... so are we

I understand hun. I was 10 days over with Emily and I literally did a 'sit in' protest in the maternity unit. I refused to leave without a baby in my arms!

I had a sweep on the tuesday and sat at home resigned to going another 2 weeks over. I put my best undies on hoping to employ sods law to get my waters to break. We stopped wondering when and just went to bed......she was born the next day....

Oh girlies, you are all so faaaaaaaaaab!!! Lisa, that sit in is giving me naughty ideas!!!
March mums, Ill visit the thread tomorrow, promise!!! I just feel funny stickin' my nose in so late in the game, y'know!!?!?

So you will all NEVER guess what...?!? The midwife gave me a recipe for a "kickcocktail" as they call it, to help start the process, apparently common practice here... GUESS what's in it!?!???? CASTOR OIL, OJ and SCHNAPPS!?!?????? I CANT believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SERIOUSLY cant believe it!!!!! Takes 6 hrs to 'work' if its gonna, and you have to take it at night. She gave me 4 possible outcomes:
- contractions starting
- diarrhea, which may or may not get contractions started
- water breaking
- Nothin'
...
?!???? I tell you, Im in SHOCK!!! I cant bring myself to take it tonight just yet... 'specially after writing about how castor oil scares me!!!! anyhoo, I havent any OJ, ran out this morning, typical! Gonna buy some tomorrow and take it tomorrow eve bf bed... You can be SURE with me itll just be the runs and nothin' else, I bet you money!!! Its only 2 tbsps of castor oil, I guess it cant hurt bubs or they'd never recommend it... I have a lot of respect for the Swiss health system...

I went for a two and a half hour walk today after the hosp, am hoping THAT helped... Was feeling really punky for some reason, still am really... Managed to go to the loo afterward, much needed!! (sorry for the tmi) and have had wicked Braxton Hicks (I think) since... Sent Reto out with the boys tonight, with cell phone on!! Watching a girlie flick and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeping. Have been awake with combination of Mini kicking, hubby snoring and heartburn to beat the band since THREE AM...
