We have been TTC for 13 cycles. I have a pretty regular cycle 28-30 days and o consistently on day 13 or 14 naturally. I haven't read much on Clomid because I assumed meds were more so for people who weren't ovulating on their own. I have an appointment Fri to talk to GYN more about next steps so I would like to walk in prepared. I have read online (as reliable as that is!) about taking Clomid even though you ovulate on your own, but and craving real peoples thoughts.

Anyone out there who ovulates on their own and on Clomid? Thoughts?

When I started at a fertility clinic I went without medication. Then I did 2 cycles with climbed and still only ovulated with one follicle/egg. I changed to Gonal F and I get much more.

Taking the medication just increases you chances of getting pregnant. In a normal month you will have one egg and one chance of a baby. This month I will have about 6 eggs with the chance if 6 babies. We just cross our fingers that we don't end up with 6.

We have had a couple cycles and ended up with a singleton and then twins. Unfortunately they don't stick so we keep on trying.

I take clomid or fermera to get higher progesterone. I do ovulate but my numbers aren't good enough on day 21 test to sustain a pregnancy. Can help get a better egg is I guess how they say it

There is a theory out there that for every "good" viable egg you release there are three or four that are not viable. The idea of overstimulating your ovaries to produce multiple eggs is to increase the chances of hitting and fertilizing a good egg.

This month I tried Femara but only got one follicle. Hoping next month we increase my dose or add gonal-f to get the multiple follicles we are looking for.

Good luck!

Thanks all for replies! My test results were good for CD3 and CD21. I am wondering if the clomid would help any? I have also read a bit that it can mess your cycle up. I do want that BFP! But I worry about it messing up my cycle that is currently doing what it needs to do :( Keep the knowledge coming!

I don't know what you mean by "missing up your cycle" but I can tell you this, although I think its more likely with injectables like Gonal F.

Watch your dose! I believe 150ui is an average dose. I was out on that and I hyper stimulated and they refused to do the iui. That ment one wasted cycle, a wasted month of medication, then they made me take a month off to recover. That happened a couple times. My dose is 100 ui. Even t 100 ui this month I'm at 7 follicles.

I don't have any other warnings, except be ready for multiples because there is a high risk.

I had clomid 50mg and got my BFP on 2nd cycle with ds. I had a regular cycle and the Dr said we should try clomid as it may produce "super eggs" his words, and a possibility of releasing more than 1. It was DEFINATLY clomid that got me my 1st ever bfp after 2 years ttc ️xxx good luck xxx

I have a DS and DD. I regularly ovulated and had no detected reasons for infertility. I conceived both the first month I was on clomid...it's a wonder drug for me...
