Sooo

I have a cbfm and this is my second month using it (ttc 8 months) and this morning I got my first ever peak on cd26!

It's quite exciting that I got my peak and jumped on my other half, but surely this is quite late in my cycle, last was 35 days long.

So does that mean I have a short luteal phase which is apparently bad, not sure what luteal phase is if any one can shed any light?

What do you think my chances are??? Just pretty happy to be honest that Im ovulating :happydance:

Thanks for reading if you've got this far

:dust: lets all get our :bfp:

When did you ovulate on your 35 day cycle?

CD26 is quite late but it's not the end of the world - you should, in theory, have a longer cycle if you have ov'd later.

I dont know when i ovulated last month (thats the problem)! Thanks for replying though :)

Last cycle i ov on cd 29/30, 42 days long.. This cycle i ov cd 39!! using cbfm and an opk, had an internal scan today and doc said he could see the follicle i ovulated from!
Your cycle should be longer..

Fingers crossed, just need to somehow extend my luteal phase (dont know how)!

Hi, I've heard that taking vit B6 along with BComplex extends your LP. LP is the period of time from O to AF, average length 12-14 days. Don't quote me, but for implantation to ocurr successfully, LP must be longer than 10 days. Idk anything more specific, am going to google it myself as I think mine is also quite short. Am going to start temping next month, along with opks so I can learn more about my cycles.

My fertility specialist said that it doesn't matter how long your follicular phase is, it's your luteal phase that is important.

Your follicular phase always changes. Your luteal phase, on the other hand, is usually consistant. For example, if one cycle you ovulate on cycle day 14 and have a 14 day luteal phase, you will have a 28 day cycle. If on another cycle you ovulate on cycle day 30, your cycle will be 44 days because if your luteal phase is 14 days and it won't change from month to month.
If you ovulate on cycle day 26 this cycle you may not have a 35 day cycle. You could have a 40 day cycle.

Do you know when you ovulated last cycle when you had a 35 day cycle? If it was on cycle day 26 that would put your luteal phase at 11 days which is on the low side. My fertility specialist says that it should be at least 12 days, but I have seen lots of people with a shorter lp and get pregnant.

Thanks :) yeh I have looked at some old threads, and mine this cycle is 9 days, if I get af when i think i will! So short as! They recommended B-50 from holland and barrett so might buy some tomorrow and see what happens!

I feel quite empowered though! To realise what is happening and where we need to go. Because for the first 8 months I thought I wasn't ovulating. So for me to get a positive opk and a peak on the cbfm is amazing!

I think were just going to see what happens this month and I will keep tracking my luteal phase and just focus on thinking positive and my :bfp: AND :sex:

Thanks ladies, wishing you all the best on your ttc journeys
