Ovulation Q

May be a daft question and you'd think after a year ttc I wouldn't be wondering.

BUT, I was trying to use up my opks this cycle. Had a few CB digi ones. Went from blank smiley face to flashing but no solid. Ran out and started using basic strips and they've only come up as negative.

Usually straight after O has occurred my boobs will ache. They haven't. I don't temp. Could I have missed the surge? Is it possible to ovulate without seeing a positive opk? Or has my body failed to O this month (which would be very unusual for me).
