Hi Ladies,
I have a question about late periods and how it affects the next cycles ovulation. Last month I was over two weeks late for my period. All pregnancy tests were negative and my period just ended on June 11th
Hubby and I decided to ttc for baby #2. Today I felt little cramping but it's only 2-3 days after my period ended. Since it was so late, does it push back my ovulation time or does it mean ovulation would happen at the same time, just clser to the beginning of the new cycle? I hope this makes sense!

The timing of your ovulation determines the timing of your period, not the other way around :) so if your last period was late it's likely because your ovulation that month was delayed. Usually the luteal phase (the time between ovulation and your period) is pretty consistent. So this cycle your ovulation will likely either be where it normally falls or delayed depending on stress levels etc, but it's not really possible to ovulate that early in your cycle (Unless of course your period was 7 or 8 days long and you're cramping 3 days after that, day 11 ovulation wouldn't be unheard of :) )

I would assume you would ovulate around the same day in your cycle as you normally would rather than on the date you expect to based on your previous cycle, if that makes sense. So I would expect you wouldn't be ovulating now but that your body would reset itself from this cycle if you had a wonky one last time. But if your cycles are irregular then you could of course ovulate anytime, but probably unlikely that it's only 2-3 days after the end of your period as that's very early. But it doesn't mean that your body can't be ramping up to ovulate soon. If you're on around CD10 now then you could ovulate around CD12 or 13, which isn't that early.
