So I bought a 30 pack of ovulation tests and have been using them once a day for over a week now. I have no idea when I ovulate and my period only started again in October so still figuring out when it all happens. I'm beginning to lose hope in testing as it's always a negative. Should I be doing more? I don't know what to do!

My first child wasn't planned so this is my first time trying and it's so much more effort than I expected 😂 any help would be appreciated xx

Did your last period start in October and you're still waiting to have another or is it just that it started again in October in general? If not, when was your lmp and how long are your cycles?

If you have a 28 day cycle, they usually suggest start testing around, I want to say, CD 11 maybe? The longer your cycles usually the longer into your cycle you'll start using the opk.

Are you temping at all? That might also be helpful to get an idea of when you ovulate and can also help give you an idea when to start opks.

Also, what time of day are you testing?

When I had first got my IUD out (at CD 32) I had expected to start about a week or so later, but was surprised a to have a 55 day cycle. I thought it was a fluke so I expected a shorter one the next cycle. Because I was too anxious to start testing, lol, I started on CD 5 which made it an even longer wait. It was frustrating and kind of depressing testing every day to it being negative, but I finally had a positive opk on CD 37 (another 55 day cycle).

Also, some people, from what I've read on here, actually never get a full out positive opk. Another reason that you might have not gotten a positive opk is that you could've missed your surge (some surges are really short).

I, personally, found opks to be quite stressful, but once I actually got the positive opk and had temp confirmation, I was glad that I used them, but they can be really stressful.
