Just starting to dig into what pram to go for from the million and one choices out there. Our friend had an Oyster yesterday and she seems to love it. It seems quite small and light so something we're looking into.

Just wondering if anyone had used one with previous LO's or has bought one for bump?

Never had one but i seen a nice one in the shop, not sure on it though as i have never had one, i remember having a graco one that was in the saem price range and it was awfull xx

I've just got one and it seems brill- very fair price, fits into the back of my tiny car (corsa), front and rear facing, seems well made, easy to push etc. Good choice of colours as well.

Only down side seems to be that its not very good on gravel and bumpy muddy areas.

I've bought one for this lo and have done hours and hours of research for it and the only downside is the front wheels seem to stick from the dirt so you have to keep them cleaned.

Apart from the great all rounder  small, leightweight, fits in small boots, front and rearward facing. Also very good looking and modern pram. Love it and cant wait to use it when lo arrives :)

This was one of my top choices for a buggy but what turned me away was the complaint about the wheels and the seat is very small. I put my 2 1/2 year old in it and her head was at the canopy. She is in the 5% for height so quite dinky.

Other than that, it does have a lot going for it. I don't think any buggy will get 100% positive reviews.

Thanks for the responses folks :) Interesting comments about the dirt/gravel, we have a gravel path between the from door and the gate, do you think I might struggle?

Mamabear, what did you get instead?

might not be suitable for me then because i have horses and we live in a semi rural area so are not always walking on pavements xx

I've got gravel in my drive, and so far it has coped quite well on the couple of times I've pushed it out there- I imagine it would be much harder on an extended gravel driveway as mine is quite short, maybe 8 metres or something. :) x

Cheers Jess, it's not a huuuuuge path and not too far a distance on my drive so prob not too dissimilar to your situation. Did you go for the Oyster car seat or one of the others? x

I ended up getting the Bugaboo Cameleon. We have limited space in our boot since we need to use one of our thrid row seats and there weren't too many buggies that fit that space that you could still use a carrycot with. I teetered on both buggies for the longest but felt I would get longer use out of the bug. Another thing I liked about the bug is if you need the carry cot in the boot, you can take out the rods and it flattens more whereas the Oyster carrycot is hardshelled. No biggie really but one thing to take note on.

There are alot of moms that have the Oyster. If you see one, stop and ask about it and take note of how the baby fits in the seat and ask how old they are. I've stopped a few moms to ask.

It was the one i wanted, but i wasn't keen on the original split pink/green colours (the pearl never came up on secondhand sites i searched lol) and didn't want to pay full price this time around so i opted for something else. I do love it though, and it was my first choice pram - and i'm VERY picky lol. It ticks just about every box - one of the best around and topped the "Which" reviews.

We have bought the oyster black pearl from kiddicare.com we went for the maxicosi cabriofix car seat as they are voted one of the safest car seats and it fits on the chassis with adapters.

We also bought the carrycot for baby as you cant hae them in a car seat for too long and the main oyster puschair is only suitable from 6 months.

It arrived a couple of weeks ago and I have played around with it, its so lightweight and easy to fold down and compact. I love it! :)

Also in the summer months I think I may buy a colour pack for it so I can change the pushchair to a brighter colour (we dont know what sex we're having so went with safe black). :)

sorry to gate crash, but i was woundering who has an oyster which they use for a baby over 12 months? Cs my lil girl 8 months and im looking at buying an oyster but want it to last till shes like 18 months old. dont want to buy it if it will only last another few months.

Thanks in advance for any help

I really liked the oyster when I have been looking around online but when I seen it for real in Mothercare I wasn't too impressed. I thought the seat looked cheap and the colour packs were crinkly! The carrycot and pram seat looked really small as though they wouldnt last baby long and I have heard bad things about the wheels over anything but flat ground.

I think I am opting for the iCandy apple now...
