oz's?

dunno if this is in the right area as it is about ff but also about weaning.

jacob has 7oz every 3 hours.

we have started weaning jacob on tues and he loves his baby rice, we give him a the recommended amount with his 5pm feed then he finishes his 7oz milk. recently after some of his feeds he seems to be getting whingey, like he wants more but after other feeds he seems full. and he is also quite sicky after his feeds.

on the times he seems like he wants more and goes less time inbetween feeds say 2-2 1/2 hours i feel like we need to up his feeds to 8oz. but surely this is too much feed? i dont want to make him anymore sick than he sometimes is. or are we best upping his baby rice at 5pm or introducing it earlier during the day aswell? say his 11am feed then 5pm feed?

would say maybe up his feed to 8 oz as his formula is his main source of vitimins also you are only mention to wean on to 1 meal a day then go up to 2 meals when weaning is established. Maybes give him his rice earlier in the day. Hope this helps

I've heard of a lot of babies having a hard time with the baby rice, can you start him on a new cereal yet? Like barley or something?

It is confusing- Elyse has always been a pokey eater and only took 3-5oz ever, but I gave her cereal and she screeched when it was done and I took the bowl away, I gave her another oz or so of bottle but she spat most of it out.

I would say feed him the bottle first then do the cereal (same amount) and if he wants more, give him more bottle.. if it keeps up, I'd make his bottle bigger (say 8oz) and then give him the cereal after it??
