Pain around belly button

Hey girls,

Just wanted to see if any of you had experienced pain on and around your belly button?

I had this mild pain on Thursday then on Saturday it was back and even worse. It feels like i am being stabbed in my belly button. LO was wriggling loads Saturday and it was so painful. I'm thinking maybe it's just stretching. I will mention to mw on Friday tho!

I get pain when he wiggles or kicks round the belly button area and last week there was one day when it really hurt and the pain didn't go for ages. I think the belly button area is just very sensitive. I know my friend who is due 2 weeks after me gets pains round her belly button.

i have been gettin this too...it does feel like ur being stabbed in belly button...does ur pain go down ur bump to ur dwnstairs area? or is that jus me? x

I was getting this really bad yesterday (i ended up bending over the shelves in b&q lol) it was a sharp stabbing pain right behind my belly button, not nice, scared me a bit. I was also feeling the pain in my bits too. It only seemed to be when i was standing up x

Yes it did do that on Saturday and gave me a fright that something was going to happen! Glad im not on my own as my girlie friends who have children hadn't experienced this x

Yeh I get this and it shoots downwards to my girlie bits - it's awful! It's much worse when I try to walk and it feels like my belly button and downwards is all stretching but it's sooo painful! Apparently it's coz the skin around the belly button is very thin and sensitive so when the baby moves and pushes against it, it can be mega painful. I think all these aches and pains are to make us grateful when labour finally starts!

This is quite common in the third trimester (apparently when I googled it!)It says that it’s because it’s one of the only times in our lives the skin inside the belly button is exposed. This makes sense. Or it said that it can be to do with the stomach muscles moving position. I had really bad pain a few weeks ago and I still get it when my belly button pops a little more. Nothing to worry about, just another joy of pregnancy!

i had this one morning and i was getting worried, but i think it was that her elbow was poking into me in that area, because i felt her change positions and the pain went away... until she went back to poking me in the bbutton wiht her elbow again!!
