baby was breech at appt 10 days ago, his head inbetween the bottom of my ribs. Now this area is really hurting, tender to touch and i feel i should have a massive bruise spreading right accross this area :-( I could cry it's so uncomfortable :-( and painful.

Has anyone else had this? x

I had this for a long time before the baby moved down, my midwife said his head was down and his feet were under my ribs, apparently they find it a really comfortable position to lie in - shame for us though! I hope it eases soon :hugs:

Yes, I had that earlier this week and it huuuuurrrrtttt. I sit at a desk all day and the sitting position makes it worse.

I called my doctor because nothing was helping... tylenol, rubbing it, icey hot... nothing. She said this is normal because everything is expanding as the baby gets bigger, including the ribs. Things are moving upwards and outwards. She said pain medication won't help because it's the pressure that's causing the discomfort. I don't really understand why pain medication wouldn't help pain no matter what the cause... but that's what she said.

One thing she recommended was getting down on all fours and rocking my body back and forth. She said doing that will help take away the pressure of the baby on the ribs. This does help, but unfortunately I can't do that in the middle of the workday. It got so bad one day that I thought I was going to start crying, so I totally understand how you feel.

Just hang in there. This type of pain won't last forever because it will go away as soon as the baby drops.

my baby is head down but get always kick under my right ribs now this is so sore that i cant even touch them

I've had this pain as well - really uncomfortable! Baby likes sticking her bum up that way, and kicking my in the ribs.

Don't forget your chest/pec muscles are separating a bit as well, so that explains a bit of it. Doesn't help though.

I love laying on the bean bag with my belly hanging down in front, lol!

I have this as my LO is breech and they tried to move him but his head is literally wedged under my ribs :( Can't wait till C Section now as it's really uncomfortable to breath.

Have the head right up at my chest/between ribs too - head sticks out like a 3rd boob!!

It is sooo uncomfortable -especially if it stays that way til the end!!

Had exact same with my first baby.

Breech all throughout both pregnancies.

ECV didnt shift first baby round so am thinking we may end up with another c-section this time.:flower:

I have this at the moment. Its seriously uncomfortable and painful, and ive been feeling it on and off for days. Im not sure what position baby is in at the moment as she keeps moving, she was in transverse lie for a long time, but moved to head down a few days ago, which is when i started feeling the pain, but then she moved into transverse again and the pain eased, since then she's moved again and the pain is back worse than ever, when i wear a bra i can actually see a huge lump right beneath my boobs and in the centre of my ribs which makes me think she may be in breech now. I find the pain eases when i lie down on my right side and the pressure seems to shift downwards a little, and being on all fours helps too. xx
