Pain on scar years on?

I had an emergency C-section with my daughter. She was born almost 5 years ago and I still get a lot of pain on my scar if I stretch too high or if I bend down too much (which I tend not to do because of trouble with my back!). Also, if I have urine infections I get pain on my C-section scar. A few months ago I was in the shower and there was a very small streak of blood coming from there, but when it was checked out by the doctor they couldn't work out where it was coming from. Sometimes it is very sore and gets red, and I get a white sort of discharge there. Is any of this normal after almost 5 years?? I've been to the doctor several times, and they gave me a cream for skin infections which didn't do much. They thought the white discharge was thrush, but the cream they gave me didn't clear it up. Now they just tell me to make sure I clean that area thoroughly and dry it thoroughly so it doesn't get infected. I'm concerned that all this is happening, but no one seems to know why. Can any one here help??

I don't have any advice or ideas but I hope you get to the bottom of it soon. Good luck

Yes, I have had the occasional pain at my c-section scar, even over a decade later. It usually happens when I do something that pulls on the area, like reaching for a high shelf. Last year my cat jumped on my belly at just the right angle and OMG the OUCH!

And to make matters weird, the middle area of my scar is always numb. It's just the outside corners that hurt. The little aches and pains in the scar have intensified a bit since I got pregnant again.

With that said, I would be worried about the blood coming from the area of the scar, and by the redness and discharge. That makes me wonder if the c-section repair was adequate? It might be a good idea to have an ultrasound of the area, especially if you intend to get pregnant again -- maybe call your doctor and insist on tests?

The pains are normal, but certainly not discharge or blood as the scar, especially the outer one, should be very much healed for years already. I would see about getting a second opinion, maybe a specialist?

Thanks all for your replies. Going back to doctor next week for something else anyway, so will ask then. The blood was only a couple of times, but the discharge happens most of the times, and seems worse when I'm in the shower?! The doctor had said it might be because that area gets hot and sweaty but I'll get them to check again

Pains yes - discharge no! I've never had blood or discharge.. Only itching or stretching pains..

The redness and discharge could be a fungal skin infection if you have skin hanging over the scar. Does the discharge smell?

I get the occasional
Pain in my c section, also when I touch it it gives me a super horrible feeling 😕 it feels numb but also very sensitive and this is almost 3 years on x

Yeah, sometimes. I have the same thing under my left breast. I've had 3 different fungal creams and antibiotic but nothing is helping!

I get the smelly red skin stuff, it's gross. I have used nappy rash cream in the past to fix it. My scar still hurts internally every now and then, I've had 2 sections. The outside is fine though.
