pains after d&c

hi i had a d&c yesterday and im in pain today when i go to the toilet it was like i was weeing glass has any one else had this and pains after there d&c? when i got home i passed a big black clot aswell but not had any blood since.

From what I can remember of d n c I had 10 years ago......felt like peeing glass and did have small amount of blood for couple of days. It is a major op so take it easy.

I had d&c end of march and I also had problem 5-6 times while going to toilate......but i also bleed for 1 week after d&c...........I had no pain.

I had this after my D&C last yr.
Cranberry juice loads of water, but it mite be a water infection, mite be best to make a doc appt n have them test your wee just in case.

I think its pretty normal to have pain & bleeding for up to a week afterwards hun but if you are worried speak to your GP xx

Ihad a d&c 5th aug and had hardly any bleeding after, maybe an hour or so, but yes it was sore going to loo , hope your feeling better soon x

Everything is tender after a D&C, I've had two.. the first I had pain for a while after and heavy bleeding. The second I had the same, but it lasted over a week and the pain was getting worse if anything. I eventually went to the doctor and I had an infection. I think a few days is normal - and it should be getting better daily, but if it goes on too long, or gets progressively worse, it's best to check. Hope you're ok xx

I bled for a while afterwards and going to the toilet was sore. I remember the cramps were awful. I think it is quite different for everyone, but take it easy and get as much rest as possible. It is a hard time so be kind to yourself xxxxxxx

I just had my D&C August 30 and I had flu-like symptoms for about three days. My thighs hurt for a few days as well but I've read it is from how I was positioned during the surgery. I had several days of just normal bleeding and than a day of clotting blood. The clots got pretty large but after that day the bleeding slowed WAY down and finally stopped completely about four days ago. You will have pains and cramping and all of that good junk for a few days after the surgery. I would say if the pain lasts longer than 5 days though to call someone and make sure you are okay. Good luck hun!! I know this is a hard time but you will feel better in no time.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. So terribly sorry about your loss

Please keep an eye on your clots hun. I don't mean to scare you (and sorry if i do), but never having gone through this before this year, I didn't know any better. I had huge silver clots and massive bleeding after my d&c. It ended up that I had retained products leftover (that weren't removed from the first d&c) and had to be booked for a second d&c, eleven days after my first one. I thought the severe pain that I was experiencing was 'normal' after surgery, and it wasn't. You should however expect cramps and bleeding (like you have described), but not to the point that you feel like passing out (which happened to me, hopefully you're not feeling this way). Please take care of yourself. If you have not stopped your cramping in a week from your surgery date, CALL THE DOCTOR!
