Pains & sensations at 19 weeks, panic

Of course as a FTM I freak out over everything, but right now I'm falling apart and having such a hard time trusting what my midwife is saying.

On Saturday I woke up with severe pains in my right side and painful urination so I went in and had a urine analysis done which came back positive for infection. However today my midwife got the call back with the culture saying it was negative so no UTI. The pains have come and go, mostly discomfort but this morning has been the worst. It was so bad I could barely walk around the kitchen to make breakfast. The pain eventually settled and I took a nap.

Now it's afternoon and the pain has returned in my low abdomen and my low back. Midwife says she's not sure and is consulting with one of the other midwives but they don't believe it's preterm labor or placental abruption as I'm not spotting, just having some discharge that's creamy/clear.

Right now I'm in tears panicking because I'm home alone and all they have to go on is a negative test and what I'm saying on the phone. She tried telling me it *could* be just ligament pain but she wants to discuss with my other midwife other things to rule out first, then I started getting snippy saying it's not ligament pain something feels wrong and I want something done. So now I'm just sitting by the phone waiting for her or the other midwife to call back..

Anyone else experience these pains and have it all turn out ok?
I'm also having weird sensations in what I think would be my cervix area, it's like a twitching poking feeling so I joked maybe baby was kicking a nerve.

Hi! I'm sorry you're dealing with this and worrying. I'm sure everything will be okay. I recently had constipation pains although I didn't know that was what it was with my abdomen and back hurting. I also have recurrent yeast (since early April) which makes my outer area hurt. I also have the experience where the baby nudges my cervix. It feels so weird. I bet that's what you're feeling too. I do have back pains today but I'm guessing it's just joint pain.

I've also had really weird pelvic pain on my left side and just in one spot. I believe it is ligament pain as it acts up when I've been more active.

Anyways, I'm not too helpful but rest assured others are dealing with issues and pains as well. Hopefully yours is nothing serious and it sounds like the midwives are consulting about your case. I do find it irritating when medical professionals brush things off which mine do all the time. Good for you for being your own advocate.

Thank you VALiz - I'm hoping everything is alright and I'm just driving myself bonkers over thinking. I don't think it's constipation because I've been somewhat regular this week but it's still possible.

I've wondered over a yeast or bladder infection but so far they don't think that because of the culture results that came back. But I find it confusing because the pain reminds me of a UTI/bladder infection.

Glad to hear the cervix feelings are not just what I'm feeling! I'm hoping it's just baby kicking in strange areas

Did they do a swab to test for yeast or BV or did they just test your urine? It stings when I pee sometimes from the yeast infection on the outside. It will also cause urgency every now and then. I've had my urine tested many times and never an infection. I'm not saying it's that though... I do know what you're going through with the worrying!

Hey ! I don't have any advice for you, just wanted to wish you well! Poor thing! It is worrying enough with everything else we have to deal with/think about.
I have been getting pains too, sometimes when I move position on the couch or stretch to reach my phone when in bed but I know that is ligament straining. In addition to that I have been getting the occasional stabbing pain in what feels like my cervix but it goes away as quickly as it stars so I guess that is also because of stretching etc?
I also don't sleep much as I can only sleep on my sides and I now permanently feel like my shoulder and neck are kinked and I have tried adding pillows around me etc. Not fun.
Anyway I hope you get some answers!

VALiz - They only tested my urine. My midwife called me back finally and had me come in, she did another urine test because she thinks there was an error on the labs part and she also swabbed for yeast so I'm really hoping one of those comes back positive.

Molly - I definitely have the stretching/straining when I move in certain ways, that I'm familiar with but the pains I'm having now are so bad and wont go away.

I get sharp feelings in my cervix but mine is due to the baby being low and actually kicking me there. I've had some abdominal pains before linked to positive urine test but neg for uti. Mine was ruled to be a cyst that ruptured. cysts are common in pregnancy due to all the hormones apparantly. If the pain feels like it comes in waves and comes at regular intervals then please don't wait for a phone call and head straight to the emergency department. Better to be safe in my opinion. Hope all is well.

Drink lots of water!! You won't feel the stretching pains as much... When I moved house I overdid it - had pains and lots of water helped xx

sorry to hear this. Not last nite but night before i got strange pains in my bump between belly button an pelvis it lasted least hr i think it was in a wave but i eventually went in shower but had come out as didnt feel right it subcided after this. I had uti at 8weeks and got worse pains till antibiotics kicked in thought was gettin again week later ass it felt uncomfy at times to pee but not bad as before couldnt sit on loo, anyway test was neg second time. I also think started losing mucus plug yest few times seen blobs of snoty sticky stuff (little amounts) this is third preg an nvr lost with other 2 but discharge was wetter last pregs undies soked lol. Am 19+5 and have scan on mon. Take care hope not uti as they hurt an hope you get anwsers. Some mws are grrrrr

I called my midwife this morning in tears, ready to go into the ER for the back and abdominal pain I was having. I'm not on antibiotics that work for UTI's and kidney infections and they have me scheduled for an u/s next week to check for kidney stones just in case the antibiotics don't make a dent.
