Pains yesterday.. spotting today :(

As you can see from my ticker, I just moved over a couple days ago...
Yesterday I was out with my mom, walking and noticed I had a LOT of pulling and sharp stretchy pains.. thought it was probably just round ligament and my uterus expanding. But this morning, I had a BM (sorry) and when I wiped I noticed a speck of red blood, bout the size of a dime Now I'm wondering if the two are related, I'm terrified! Conveniently I have a MW appt this afternoon, but 5 hours away and it feels like a lifetime... can anyone ease my mind a bit? xxx

I've seen a lot of women report seeing a small amount of blood after a bowel movement, and their pregnancies are fine. Could you tell for sure where it was coming from? Because it could be due to irritation if you're having to strain to have a bm, too. Was it definitely vaginal bleeding? I would wear a pad, just to see if you see more blood, and let the doctor/midwife know. Ask if it could be related to the placement of the placenta. Keep us updated, but I bet it will be fine!

I couldn't exactly tell where it came from I went and checked 20 minutes later and couldn't find anything (without checking internally of course). Now I just checked again after another BM.. it happened again! I tried to pay attention to where it came from, I don't think it's vaginal This is all so confusing!! Thanks for you reply I'll update after my appt x

It's probarly from your bum are you constipated or forcing it? the same happens to me....one of the not so nice side effects of pregnancy!! I wouldnt check internally I did that and made myself bleed! and a trip to the ER made me look silly lol x

I might've forced a little too much with the first one, but not the second. Urg, what ever happened to the cute bump and amazing glow?! No one mentions these crazy and not so fun symptoms! I'll still bring it up to MW, but I'll relax some now.. probably all it is, I have no cramping and nothing reaches my panties. Thanks so much x

I am 100% sure your pains must have been ligament pain and the blood was from constipation and not your vagina. Going for another BM must have opened the bleed again that's all!!!! Your bum will heal soon!

And it's funny because I don't think twice about any pains, reading other ladies' stories I figure just about every pinch, twinge, pull, pain is normal but as soon as I saw blood, that's when panic mode hit!
Is it normal to have a bum bleed ( how weird, I'd never discuss this off the website) and there be NO pain associated with it? I was fooled entirely that it'd more than likely come from there xx

I've had both cramping and some spotting on and off throughout this entire pregnancy they've checked the placenta, the baby and everything multiple times but everything looks perfectly normal. Dr said its most likely from the cervix and canal area due to pressure and straining cause the vessels to break. mention it to your dr have em rule out any dangers just in case.

I know how you feel. I have had on and off bright red spotting from 15 weeks, most often following a BM. The blood was on the tissue from wiping and was definitely vaginal in origin. Each time I contacted my midwife and they called me in to check for a heartbeat which has been present every time. They have done a scan to check the placenta, which was fine and taken a swab to check for infection which was also fine.

They couldn't find a reason for the bleeding but it was extremely nerve-racking for me every time it happen as I assumed the worst.

However, try not to worry though as I am now 24 weeks pregnant. My 20 week scan showed a healthy baby boy. I can feel him moving several times a day which is really reassuring. I am putting the bleeding down to a sensitive cervix.

Thanks so much ladies! My MW was at the hospital to deliver.. but I met my 2nd MW who was lovely! She told me not to worry as it's such a scant amount and because I'm not complaining of cramping.. but to pay attention tomorrow, if it's from my bum, it could be a hemorrhoid that I'm completely unaware of so far Not sure which I'd rather it be coming from now lol. I have my own doppler, but was far too scared to check for myself.. so I just waited and let her check. She said baby must've been napping as the heart rate wasn't as quick as I hear it at times, but still VERY strong and healthy So I feel a ton better! Can't wait for my 20 week scan the beginning of November, I'll feel that much better when I can see him/her! xxxx
