Im currently going through my first MC :( my baby was meant to be 8 weeks i started light bleeding had a scan and showed my baby only measured 4-5 weeks but i knew my dates and knew my baby had just stopped growing :( that evening i started losing lots of blood and big clots and lots of tummy pain, had that for a few days and now its all slowed down to pretty much a period, but the hospital havent told me anything literally just said come back for a scan in two weeks to see if baby has cleared or if i will need medical intervention. What i wanted to know is how long after a miscarriage should we be careful not to fall pregnant again and is there any risk of if i fell pregnant again too soon having to go through another miscarriage? Xx

From what a gather some docs may tell you to wait a. Onth but it could be for dating purposes. I ttc right after my first mc and fell pregnant but went on to mc that one, then fell pregnant right after that and im still awaiting my first scan but i have a good feeling. When i asked my mw she just said my second mc was bad luck.

Thank you for your answer hun and im sorry for your losses, i bet your scan cant come soon enough, congratulations and iv got my fingers crossed that everything is perfect for your scan, and im sure it will be xxxx

I agree with celine, most doctors recommend ttc after one cycle but mainly just for dating purposes. It depends if you go on to need any medical intervention though. I had a medically induced MC and they said after one to two cycles would be fine but if you end up needing a d&c to clear anything then to wait 3 cycles so your womb lining can replenish.

Sorry for your loss Hun and I hope all is clear for you so you can get back to ttc :hugs:

Celine sorry for your losses too Hun :hugs: got everything crossed for you that all is ok this time. I'm a great believer in that gut feeling though, I knew something was wrong when I had the MMC but next time I knew all would be fine with my dd and it was.

Good luck to you both x

Just to update you that i had my scan today and i finally saw a gorgeous wee blob with a beating heart! So proof after two consecutive mc you can be blessed, i know im not out of the woods yet, i asked what my mc rate was now and she said its down to 5% and really 12 weeks is the golden week.

I've had 2 miscarriages within a year of each other and then conceived about 4 months after my latest loss and now am entering my second trimester with absolutely no issues so far. I can even feel my baby kick from time to time.

I think the biggest risk with PaL is the emotional stress and anxiety that can come but I'm not sure if waiting will help with that. Every twinge sends me running to the bathroom and even after 14 weeks I still spot check every time. It is what it is.

I'm sorry for your loss and hope you get your sticky bfp soon.
