Im 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant and I have just started to bleed it is brownie blood but i do have period like pains too. However have had these on and off since I found out I was pregnant. Has anyone else had these with bleeding.

:cry:i feel so upset and trying to stay positive but am so scared.

Hello. I can definitely understand your concern. First of all, I would phone your doctor as soon as possible.

Secondly the brown blood, they say, is old blood. Blood can stay in your uterus for a number of days before making it's way out. It could have been implantation bleeding.

What does concern me is the cramps. How bad are they? At the same time, just read that you've had them on and off throughout your pregnancy. Is this your first? Could be the uterus growing :)

Make sure you do call your doctor and do take it easy today.

Thinking of you.

I would see your doctor. I've experienced cramping and from what I've read that's normal, but bleeding is not.

Ive never had a lot of pain its just a dull aching nothing severe

I had bleeding during my second pregnancy and everything was fine. This week I had some spotting, which was pink in color, yet it has stopped now and everything seems fine.

They do say that 30% of pregnant woman do experience bleeding, but everything is ok :) It can be normal for some women.

But do call the doctor and let him/her know.

I think you will be fine :) It's probably your uterus growing. I had a bit of tension there this week too.

Come to think of it, I had bleeding in my first pregnancy too. I thought I had had a second miscarriage and my doctor had me go in for an ultrasound. The way the nurses kept asking me after the ultrasound "When was your last period" had me know that they saw a pregnancy :) She's now a 6 year old girl :)

I know it's very hard not to worry but do take it easy!

Thank you. I really hope so. It is my first I just feel so upset though I cant help panicking Im going to phone my doc first thing in the morn. Trying to stay calm but its so hard.

Any bleeding you should speak to your GP or MW the next working day just to be on the 'safe side' any severe pain or the bleeding is HEAVY you should go to the emergency.

Cramps are perfectly normal for a viable pregnancy & will continue through your pregnancy.

I had bleeding with this pregnancy for most of my 1st trimester after finding out I was pregnant. Sometimes there can be a reason for bleeding with an ongoing pregnancy sometimes theres none in my case after a check, water tests & a scan there was no obvious reason so was left unknown but my LO is here.

Best of luck & welcome to BabyandBump ;)

Ive had the same thing and its really worrying my doctor keeps asking do i still have pregnancy symptoms and the answer is yes sick all the time massive sore boobs bloated massive outbusts of crying i think im justcoming to the conclusion that some women bleed and others dont try not to worry and rest as much as you can

take care:hugs:

i had bleeding when i was 6 weeks on and off for about 3 days,it was brown blood (old blood) but i didnt have any cramping, but your cramping may just be your uterus growing. if you say it feels achy more than crampy then it might be that.
i was told that in the 6th week of pregnancy the plecenta is forming and attaching it self so it may be that too.

hope it eases and stops.

oh,is it only when you wipe or is there enough blood for a pad?

thinking of you.

I had some brown blood last week twice. i rang the early pregnancy unit at the hospital and they said that between 5 and 8 weeks it is normal and is implantation bleeding. they just said that if it gets any heavier then call them back. like you i was really panicking. I had brown blood on my last pregnancy too but it was much later on and i was sent to the hospital where they monitored me for a few hours and everything was fine. So try not to worry but call your doctor just to put your own mind at ease. thinking of you :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:
