Partner Change of Shoes

Hi,

I am having a C section next Friday and have been given a list of things to take. On it it says that OH needs a change of shoes - does anyone know why? I thought that something would be put over the shows in theatre? What type of shoes should he take - trainers? Sandals?! Do they need to be new/really clean?

He'll no doubt be given shoe covers to wear over his shoes - kinda like shower caps but clean shoes would be best if its planned...I can only imagine that they advise a change in shoes in case they get errr 'splashed'

No I don't necessarily mean blood...but when they cut into your uterus there's all your waters that have to come out...yes they will use suction but sometimes they'll splash on the floor too.

You'll know your about to meet your baby when you hear that splash or the suction start!

LOL! The things you dont think about

I'm probably going to have an elective section after an emergency section last time, but I've not got my appt for another couple of weeks so I'll likely get all that information then, I'd no doubt have been wondering the same thing if I got that on the list!!!
