Patch work blanket

My nan taught me how to make a patchwork blanket but only using squares.

1. Make a template out of strong card or wood of the shape you want to use.
2. Cut out as many paper shapes as you need or just a few to start
3. Cut out your fabric 2cm's bigger then the template
4. Pin the edges of the fabric onto your paper so it is the size of the template
5. Put a rough stitch in and take out pins
6. Sew the shapes together
7. When big enough you need to decide if you want patchwork both sides of the blanket or not. If you do then make another patchwork blanket the same size and stitch back to back or use plain fabric for the back. You need to stitch the 2 blanket sides together inside out leaving a gap then turn it the right way and sew the gap up.

Sorry if its not very clear but i will do stages 1-6 tonight and take pics for you if you want.

Oooo might have a go at this, I cant remember where I saw it but someone once used all their old baby clothes and made a nice blanket for the baby - think i'll have a go at the same!! :)

Thank you - i'll keep you updated if I get anywhere! :flow:
