Hi there,
My husband runs his own business and I was wondering if there is anyway that he can claim any paternity pay? Everywhere I look the answer seems to be 'no' but someone mentioned to me ages ago that their partner was able to claim and he was self employed... can't remember who it was tho? Does anyone have any advice/ knowledge that they could share?
Thanks ladies

my partner is self employed as well so would be interested to see if anyone knows the answer to this.

My husband could not claim paternity pay as he is self-employed. Sorry the answer is no you can't claim if you're self-employed.

Thanks

unfortunately you are only entitled to SPP if you are an employee, or so i understand. my partner can't claim anything.

Unfortunately he can't claim Paternity Pay when self-employed.
I've looked into it too and haven't come across anywhere that says yes, yet.

No, don't think so! If anyone finds out that there's a secret stash though, we would eb VERY grateful!
