Total long shot but has anyone been to see this in the UK since July? The reason I ask is that DS1 got tickets for a show in September as a Christmas gift last year and I since found out I was pregnant and baby is due (overdue) soon and will only be 2 weeks old at the time of the show. The venue have said I can take him but don't recommend it due to the noise of the show but I'm wondering if it is that bad or if they just have to say that to cover their backs. We aren't sitting particularly close to the stage so I'm thinking if baby is in a wrap and will likely be sleeping anyway and the show is only an hour will it be ok? I don't want DS1 to miss out but hubby is working and the rest of the family are away on holiday that week so my only option is to take him myself.

I've gone to concerts and left with my ears ringing so maybe? It might be a valid concern. I'd also be worried about baby fussiness annoying other people in the audience, navigating the auditorium for diaper changes, and antivaxers lurking in the crowd. If you have concerns can you find someone to give your ticket to? A family member or a friend for DS depending on if dad is going as well already. Personally I prefer to stay at home during those early weeks but I could see a newborn being either a nightmare or sleeping through the entire thing.

Thanks for your reply! The show is for kids 1-6 so I'm thinking surely it wouldn't be as loud as an adult type concert but you are right about antivaxers, I hadn't considered that. Hmmm, maybe need to rethink!

Both the nurse discharging my daughter and her pediatrician recommended to me that we try to avoid crowds/enclosed public public places until after her first immunizations for that very reason. Also, at around the two month mark is when their own immune system is kicking in. She was a preemie though but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Thanks. Yes definitely worth mentioning! We don't take puppies out til after their their immunisations but I'd never thought about it being the same with babies!
