Ok so in September I was diagnosed with PCOS. I haven't had a natural period since my daughter was concieved 2years ago and last contraceptive withdrawal bleed was 2years ago. Anywho at my last hosptal appointment they started me on Norethisterone so that i would have a withdrawal bleed hen start clomide on second day of bleed but it's been a week now and still no bleed. Hospital said it would be a few days but I dont know how long I should wait and what to do if I dont bleed because they said I would. Anyone had this problem or any advice would be super please

I was prescribed Provera which does the same thing as Norethisterone. After 7 days I had some spotting but it never materialied into a full withdrawal bleed so my Fertility Nurse advised me not to take the Clomid until I had one. After 2 weeks I went back to them again and they have now prescribed Metformin for 12 weeks. I now have to keep waiting for a bleed before I can start.

Previously I have been prescribed Norethisterone and had withdrawal bleeds 3 days after finishing taking them. I would wait till about 10 days after the pills and if still not had anything get back in touch with your consultant. I was told that if you do not have a withdrawal bleed then the Clomid has less chance of working not sure how correct this is or if this is just how my fertility specialist views things.

thank you. at first I was on metaformin but it was evil and i had to stop I was so ill after just one tablet and when it was upped to 3 i thought i was dying!! hopefully something will happen soon I was getting signs of bleeding last week bad cramps and really sore boobs but they stopped on saturday and I feel right as rain. i'll give it till friday and call my consultant. I just hope they do something soon I'm desperate now!

I know exactly how you feel you think your so near but yet feel so far again. I felt exactly the same like I was having AF and spotting severs stomache cramps etcit lasted for about 5 days then i felt fine and dandy again. So then I knew it wasn't coming.

I have also been on Metformin before and that did nothing to bring AF so I know it won't work again. I do have some more provera though so as we are going on holiday to Ireland on Saturday i think I will keep taking the Met until I come back then take the Provera again and if I go through same symptoms I will take the Clomid.

There was a girl on here yesterday who had the spotting and she rang her consultant and they told her to take it as CD1.

My doc tells me the same thing. I need a bleed before I can start on Clomid. Right now, my doctor is not giving me any Clomid until I try Metformin for 2-3 months first. Well, since I'm going on holiday soon, I will just go ahead and do that. And yes, I know exactly how frustrating it can be without your AF. I went for 5 mths without one and it almost drove me crazy! On Metformin for 2 months now, but still waiting for my second period.
