PCOS and IUI with clomid and FSH

Hi guys, my name is heather and i am 25. the husband and i have been TTC for 3 years. this year i was told that i have PCOS. I just went to the doctor a couple days ago, and they want to try clomid with a FSH injection, and then IUI. Has this worked for anyone else? I am looking to meet other women who are currently or have in the past gone through this. It's really hard for me because i am (somehow) the only one in my family with fertility issues, and i have no one to really talk to about the things that i am going through, because no one else really gets it. I look forward to meeting all of you.

I have been dealing with PCOS for over 2 years, My doctor proscribed me with spironolactone. I am wondering if I need to find me a FD so that I can see what the deal is with this med.. if I'm on the right stuff.. I wonder if i need to be on Clomid. Maybe we can do this together.. I need a new friend

maybe we could do this together, i would love to have someone to talk to about this stuff. i would recommend a FD, thats where i am at now, my regular doctor found that i had PCOS, but wasn't comfortable treating it.

I just wanted to let you know that I had success with IUI. I was also on clomid and Pergeon pen 75ml. I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. I did not have PCOS but we did have alot of other fertility issues. Best of luck to both of you on getting your

It is my understanding that spironolactone helps with the symptoms of PCOS like acne, excess hair and weight gain....? I don't know what, if anything, it does for ovulation/fertility.

I was just prescribed Clomid (I am 24). I haven't ovulated since stopping BCPs in January due to PCOS (they think it is PCOS anyway), and I am very lucky to have found a wonderful doctor who was willing to treat me before the "1 year mark" of TTC. I am doing the Clomid challenge test, plus having my day 3 labs drawn. I am on BCPs for 1 month, do day 3 labs, then I take Clomid 100mg on days 4 - 8, then I have an ultrasound for follicles on day 21. She said if I wanted to get pregnant with this round of Clomid to have lots of sex days 11-18.

Let us know how your treatment goes. I guess Clomid is the first step for me, but if it isn't successful after a few months I may be on to IUI. Good luck sweetie!
