My husband and I have been trying for 8 years. I have PCOS and he doesn't have any issues. We know this because we saw a fertility doctor about 2 years ago.

With PCOS if anybody knows a lot of times the persons overweight and it's hard to lose weight. I'm overweight. I started weight watchers last month and I've already lost 14 pounds.

My question is how much weight do you think it would take before I might start ovulating again. And have you or do you know anybody who's lost weight with PCOS and was able to get pregnant.

I'm just so frustrated and worried that at my age which I'll be 34 this year with losing weight I won't start ovulating. I'm not asking for 10 kids I'm just asking for one. It's been so long that half of me has given up.

Sry hun, I read this but I am actually UNDER weight for TTC. I can't give you a estimate, but I would guess try going for you BMI dependent on your age and height. Sry I'm not more helpful, but didn't want to read and leave nothing.

Thank you for responding. This site can get frustrating. Sometimes you get replies others times your left hanging.

I was diagnosed with pcos (although I no longer have it) and am overweight - the fertility specialist I saw said if I could lose 10% body weight that would kick start ovulation, and I am currently pregnant now (4 1/2 yrs ttc, 3 losses before this pregnancy) having lost a little more than that. I think losing the weight is probably what got rid of the condition. I would really recommend going back to a doctor though, as there is medication you can take to bring in ovulation (like clomid) which may help. Good luck and huge well done on your amazing weight loss so far! :)

Also you may be better posting this in the ttc board rather than the long term one as it’s quieter in here.

Thank you red. I actually tried Clomid and even at highest dose didn't ovulate. I was about to start injectable when life got in the way. Before we start with doctors again I want to try losing weight. I am down 15 already. I am hoping it helps.

Thank you for the tip on the board to post in.

Sorry, can't help with dir experiences, so I just wanted to wish you all the best with yr journey and hopefully you find someone on here that has been through something similar xx
