I saw an infertility specialist this past Monday and he has decided to take somewhat of an aggressive approach. I have been on Metformin since 2009 and it has definitely regulated my menstrual cycle; but as far as I can tell I am still not ovulating.

I have tried Clomid in the past and it was prescribed by my OBGYN. When I saw the infertility specialist he was shocked that my OBGYN did not ask me to come back to the office for a trigger shot after taking the Clomid. While I was in his office he did an ultrasound, and even though I had just ended my period three days prior to seeing him, I still had about a centimeter of thickness on my uterus which he wants to clean out, so he gave me provera (which I have also used in the past).

I was told to call him the day I start this induced period and then take the clomid and the femara. Then I have to go back to his office for an ultrasound and a shot, to see if it works. I was wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20, I am now 25.

I have also had an HSG done, a biopsy of my uterus, cultures, blood work, and almost everything you could think of! Thanks in advance!

I have not been through it before but besides the trigger shot, that is the same thing my doctor is having me do. I have 4 days left of provera and then on day 3 of my new cycle he wants me to take femara and clomid (honestly, I am glad you posted because everyone else I have talked to has told me that femara and clomid are supposed to do the same thing so I shouldn't take them together). I was actually worried about that. I hope that both of us have good experiences! Good luck!

I hear ya! It really does seem like a lot of med's, but I just assure myself that they know what they are doing. He said if this does not work, we will try something new next month. I am very hopeful, but I am trying to NOT get my hopes up too much and then be disappointed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know how everything works out with you! I am on day 2 of provera so I am one day behind you! It would be amazing if it worked for both of us!!

Have you tried any other procedures or medications before trying this combo??

I am starting this treatment approach and wondering what the outcome was for both of you ladies.

RobinMarie, I live in Temple, TX and I am starting fertility treatments again, for the first time in 3 years. The doctor is gonna put me on the same combo you were on, Clomid, Femara, Metformin, plus Provera to start my cycle. Did that combo work for you?

I just logged on and noticed the replies.

I just wanted to update and let you ladies know my own personal experience.

I did Provera, then clomid, and had a internal ultrasound on CD14, I took my trigger shot on CD 15 and got a BFP 15 days after that. My HCG levels were fantastic but my progesterone was very low and I had to use progesterone cream and take suppositories until week 12. I did lose my baby but it was due to an undetected infection not the fertility meds.

I wish you all the luck in the world!
