PCOS - Going back on the pill temporarily?

Hey I wondered if any of you had ever had good previous experiences by going back on the pill for a few month to try and induce ovulation when coming off?

I have started it again for 2 months and told to come off in August to see if I ovulate cx

I've heard of it but I really can't see the logic in it. I'd have though it would make more sense to try clomid or femara to try and induce ovulation rather than the pill to stop it.
I think I'd ask your Doc to tell you what the success rate of this is?

I'm assuming this is a GP's logic of the pill "regulates" your cycle so maybe if its regulated then your body will know what to do when you come off the pill?
I'd also ask if you do try it how long after coming off the pill do you need to await before they will refer you to a specialist?
Or better still given the waits to see a specialist I'd ask for a referral now and try the pill idea in the mean time.

I am already seeing a specialist and he wants me to try this and see how it goes and I shouldn hopefully start clomid in sept time if no luck xx

Depending on various factors I think I'd go with it and see what happens.

However if you're the wrong side of 30 I think I'd be pushing for more tests. I'm assuming you have an irregular cycle ie varies by more than a week? Have you had an ultrasound to check for PCOS? Or an HSG to check your tubes? What about DH is all ok with him?
I'd certainly want those tests done after 3 mths on clomid at the very latest.

Yer I have has PCOS confirmed and have another ultrasound booked and the hsg test and OH getting his sperm tested x

I think with pcos you sometimes get cysts and the pill will shrink those. It seems pretty common. A friend of mine just completed a few months on the pill to get rid of cysts and now she's ready to ttc. The pill can supress and regulate some of the crazy hormones that pcos causes.
