So DH and I have been trying for 15 months now with no luck. I was told by my PCP back in May that I have PCOS, after 5 months without AF. She suggested charting. My first cycle was 45 days, the second was 66 days with O on cd55, and I am on my third cycle cd48. A few times, I thought I ovulated, but my temp didn't stay elevated. I'm confused, frustrated. My PCP sent in a referral to a fertility specialist last month but I haven't made my appointment yet because I'm trying to figure out insurance coverage and whatnot. For those of you with PCOS, aside from checking cm and opks, how do you figure out when you're going to O? and my chart is in my sig if you wanna take a peek.

Update: My chart still doesn't show ovulation, but I had a couple spikes and between cm, temps and what seems to be O pains, I think I ovulated about 8 days ago. Today, I'm spotting a little (only when I wipe), but I never spot, except sometimes the day before AF, I don't know what to think.

I just use temping and cm, my GP told me that opks are not useful for those with PCOS as we can get a surge and no ovulate..
Have you thought about giving agnus cactus a go to help regulate your cycles?
I have just finished my first month in it and I did ovulate!

Af just came today, meaning that last cycle was anovulatory. I haven't heard of agnus cactus before, where can I get it? Did it help regulate your cycle?

I get mine online as my closest Holland and Barrett stopped selling it, I take 1000mg every morning and so far so good!
I am on my second month on it now, last month was 30 days, so very good for me and i ovulated. I'm hoping I will do the same this month too. CD3/4 today, that must put us at the same CD!

I'll have to try that. I thought it was af but it was very light and only one day, other than that I've had spotting a few days, so I'm not quite sure what to think at this point.

I see your temp has also dropped slowly, maybe your body is gearing up to o? You can get spotting at ovulation. But it also could just be an anovulatory cycle so your period may not be as heavy as it normally is.
Definitely give it a go, I think it could work for you to shorten your cycles!

You take 1000 mg every day? i looked it up online and can only find it in 100 or 400mg tablets. what do you buy?

I started taking vitex (agnus castus) last cycle. It brought my cycle from nearly 80 days before I started taking it to 40 days last cycle. This will be my first full cycle on it so I can't wait to see what it does for me. I ovulated last cycle although late, but I also didn't start taking it until halfway through my cycle. I will say it has greatly cleared my skin up. I take 1200mg in 3 400mg capsules twice a day. Two in the AM right upon waking and one before bed.

Wow, that's great. Definitely sounds like something I should try then. Thanks, always good to hear success stories.

The ones i buy are made by Lindens and i just buy a pack of 100 tablets online from a seller on ebay, seems to be the cheapest way for a dose that big.

Sorry, I just need to vent right now. There is a girl that I'm in school with right now, and we are both graduating in may so she started ttc this month. She posted today that she got a BFP. In tears right now, I feel like every time I hear a pregnancy announcement, especially from someone who isn't or just started trying, my heart breaks a little. I know my time will come, but I just don't know how to deal with it anymore....

Hi there, Sori had write a comment, what you said struck a cord, please keep faith you will get your bfp. I have pcos. My longest cycle to date is 50. I was ttc 12.months for my lb. I o'ed 9 times. I knew when I was o'ing as it extremely painful. I have everything x'ed for you. Anywho back to what struck a cord. When I was ttc my best frind (didn't know i was ttc) announced she was unexpectedly expecting. I was thrilled but gutted I was and still am so close to her and her growing family. During my pregnancy she was incredibly lucky to concieve without ttc again, and once more since
Some ppl are.extremely fertile. I was incredibly bitter the entire way through her pregnancy, not to her but to her lack of effort ttc.

Thanks for your support. We have been ttc 15 months. Both of my sisters in law got pregnant on their first cycle ttc. And it seems like every time i start to get frustrated, I get flooded will all sorts of announcements. I just want it so bad..... And with the girl who just announced, I see her 3 days a week and to watch through her pregnancy is going to be hard.... I'm at the point where I've started to feel like it's never going to happen. I'm almost desensitized to BFN at this point because I've seen it so many times.

When u get that bfp it will be even more amazing!!!! I look at my lb and think how long and hard I had to work to get him. (obviously bd wasn't hard but all the heartache counts) don't feel guilty or at all bad for what you are feeling. I know I'm saying this from the other side but Ive been in a similar situation. Fx for you

I'm sorry to hear about how you are feeling right now, i understand how much envy and frustration you must have at the moment. Like the pp said, when you get your bfp you will be even more amazing because you have been trying so so long without any luck.
I find its always the people that want to be PG the most that have a hard time actually conceiving a child, and easily happens to the ones that have only just considered a child. Its something us ttc'ers have to deal with everyday, unexpected announcements, being supportive to those that are PG, watching others babies grow and grow etc. Its hard to not feel hatred towards the 'friend' in this situation.
I know it may take all your strength not to be so stressed over your friend, it WILL happen for you one day. But whilst you are so stressed it can potentially be delaying the inevitable.
:hugs:

I saw her today and said a genuine congrats mama, but its hard because i was with that group all day and that's all they talked about. And all of them have kids so they were sharing their stories of morning sickness, cravings, whatever..... Just makes me feel kind of left out.... On the up side.... DH had an SA done and he's all good, so it's just me that needs some fixin

At least theres one less thing to worry about now :flower:
Maybe try not spending too much time with that group of friends/relatives until you feel you are in a more positive place about the whole thing, otherwise it will probably make you feel worse.
Well done for beating the inner you and congratulating her :hugs:

Hi ladies! I just wanted to bump this thread up. I'm currently on CD48 with no AF in sight. Just curious about the agnus cactus and if it's still working for you. I'm hesitant to try any supplements but my cycles are getting longer each time, so I might have PCOS too :(. I had a BFN on Friday and no symptoms so my body is just not working properly. Once I actually get AF and start a new cycle, I'm going to temp for the first time. This next cycle will be my 4th TTC.

Thanks for the advice!

I recommend it! Just got my BFP after being on it for a month and a half. I have bad PCOS as well. Started it during my last cycle as it was so long and it made me ovulate and brought on AF and I'm convinced it brought me my BFP.
