Had to share what i have been doing differently this month and achieved ovulation for the first time since BCP 10 years ago!..

Here is my history
- BCP 10 years until June 2009
- Started TTC, but had a 6 week cycle (lots of pregnancy symptoms but BFN)
- 8 week cycle
- 4 months cycle!..
- Late Dec, began weekly acupuncture sessions
- Diagnosed with PCOS on both ovaries, with LH levels 3 times FSH
- Beg Jan started taking chinese herbs to bring on AF
- LH levels dropped drastically as no longer dark on OPK's
- Started drinking 2 cups of fertilitea instead of normal tea
- Cut out refined carbs, alcohol and sugar and switched to occasional piece of 70% cocoa chocolate as a treat
- regular exercise gym, running and walking
- eating fresh pineapple daily as i read it can help TTC.. he he
- Mid Jan, AF arrived exactly a week after herbs as predicted by the doc
- This cycle lots of EWCM from CD10, slight twinges on right side (always on left in the past)
- Lots of energy, staying up late and waking up early ready to go
- First proper positive OPK. The test line was much darker than control line
- Higher temps since and crosshairs to show ov on my chart :winkwink:
- Sore nipples..

So i have ov'd on CD13 which is perfect and i am so happy anyone would think i had a positive HPT  so now i'm just waiting to see how the luteal phase goes, i;m not expecting a BFP this cycle but would be delighted!!

Wow, that is exellent news! Thanks for all the tips, might try a few of these myself!

Hope you managed to catch your first egg!! xx

Thanks so much for posting this hun, hope yo get that BFP x

Thanks...I love it and yes I will be using some of your tips!!!!
Baby Dust To All!!!

Well done, you have done so well!

I CANT quit sugar! What can I do to help myself keep off sugar? I cut out caffeine, fizzy drinks, alcohol, white bread no problem but I CANT QUIT SUGAR! I have to have one dessert / cake / chocolate bar per day, I cant stop thinking about sweet stuff til I have had it. I need tips on how to stop this.

BTW your chart looks great! xx

oh christ that looks tiring!

I am going for the refined carbs and alcohol, exercise and fresh pineapple for the moment. I am also trying to lower my bmi. I am no longer obese so that's good news! Thanks so much for posting that. xxx

OMG OMG OMG !!!

So i did 3 IC's all had a faint line, then got my hubby to pee on one and clearly negative. So we've just been out to boots and bought FRER and bright clear pink line appeared after 2 mins and is still there now an hour later :-)..

So officially another TCM BFP!!!..

I'm just so scared now as i know that PCOS has a higher case of miscarriages and i'm a little worried about the moxa treatment yesterday as i heard that shouldn't be done when pregnant.. just gotta try and relax about it all now !!
xx :happydance::happydance::happydance:

Hey... the pineapple was a big help for me and the occasional bit of dark chocolate.. i used to have a bar a day, now have a couple of pieces of dark chocoate and a big bowl of pineapple it really does help!

congratulations!!!

i have been reading up on this and apparently pcos miscarriages are caused by the hormones producing a poor quality egg. TCM apparently increases the quality of the ovary in general so it produces a healthier egg in a purer environment - theoretically wiping out the increased chance of mc. So you should be on the same page as anyone else who has just got a bfp. Best of luck to you hun and thanks for sharing your story xxx

Thanks DragonMummy.. got a stinking cold at the moment, so that cause me to relax a bit too :-)..

Just shows it can happen for those of us with PCOS!.. Good luck with your treatment.. There's a thread on TTC called The Really Usefull TCM Thread and a few of the girls on there have PCOS too and are taking the herbs and acupuncture.. There's been 3 BFP's in the last couple of weeks, so it does seem to work x

thanks. i really think i need to sort my bmi out first though. i want to get it down to about 26-27 before i consider alternative therapies (it is 30 at the moment). xx

Congrats again Carrie, im hoping to be the next BFP from TCM and IVF
H&H 9 months xx

What is TCM?? Been trying to figure that one out!!

Congratulations Carrie - I def. need to give myself a kick up the bum ....... Im trying to go low gi, so have some dark chocolate in ........... can I ask, before this cycle, did you used to get quite obvious ov pains? Then only a few twinges on the BFP cycle?
I usually get very obvious ov pains, but this cycle I may have ovulated earlier than usual but got no ov pains so am doubting if I have actually ovulated at all, despite the + opk

Ohh - is it 'Taking Chinese Medicine'?

If so does anyone know how much that would cost in the Uk for someone who is a slim PCOS'er having regular ish periods but ovulating on cd19 usually

the herbs are normally used with acupuncture. acupuncture for me is £45 per hour. dont know about the herbs.

Thanks ....... think I will look into the accupuncture/herbal medicine if we dont have luck this cycle or the next ......... I think even doing the low gi diet could take a couple of months to have much of an effect on the PCOS

I think that as well Choccy. Although I mostly think that when there is a sandwich on offer.....
