Hi

I had blood tests a while back and was told everything came back within normal levels. However because I was having very irregular periods I was sent for an ultrasound which showed up multiple cysts on my ovaries. My GP told me this was consistent with PCOS and has referred me to a gynaecologist. Since then though I have been told PCOS can only be diagnosed through blood tests and ultrasounds - does anyone know?

Also what will the gynaecologist do?

Thanks

Hi Kat08

I'm not a complete expert on PCOS however I too had ok levels on all blood tests then had an ultrasound which detected cysts on my ovaries...the consultant said that I have PCO which is the cysts but without the usual syndrome symptoms...

From my experience, the PCO shows that I wasn't ovulating regularly so I am now on Clomid which stimulates them eggies! No luck so far but fingers crossed for a new year miracle! :)

Good luck!

Great thanks Bexy - would you mind me asking what happened when you were referred to the gynaecologist? Did they do anymoe tests or just you straight onto clomid?
