Pear drops breath

I get this every now and then, have had it for the past few days constantly and it's horrible! I know it can be a sign of diabetes, but assuming I don't have diabetes, what could be causing it?

First thing I was going to say was diabetes. But me, my siblings and my LO all get a pear drop kinda breath a few days before we get ill, usually throat infections. Weird I know but might be a possibility?

Thank you! I've actually come down with a cough now, so maybe I'm the same as you. I'm gonna watch out in future and see if it's always before I get ill.
