People inviting themselves over..

This happened to me just yesterday. A friend told me she was coming over to help me clean the house up. I ended up doing her laundry (she needed to borrow my washing machine) and watching her two kids plus my two kids, and feeding everyone lunch. My house was a bigger disaster when she left than before she came! I hate it when people "offer" to help with something. I always think that there is an alterior motive, such as just visiting the baby while us new moms are running around making tea and hosting. Not fair! My dreaded mother in law tried to come for an visit for two weeks THIS MONTH....I could have told her to eff off it was so inconsiderate. We told her "next year". LOL!

I know how you feel... My in-laws invited themselves for Christmas...

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

They said "well we really don't want you travelling in the winter with a newborn, so we'll just come over!"

I was like "umm.. can we play it by ear? or you know decide closer to the date?" My baby will only be 2.5 months... I don't even know if I will know how to be a mom by then...

I've had this problem too :dohh: the amount of people I've said no your not coming to visit us until we're ready to is ridiculous, it took ages for my mum to accept that she wasn't going to be staying over for the first few weeks, a few relatives saying they will fly over to visit when he's born and to stay over having to be turned down(didn't go down well) you need to do whats best for you and your baby so people should respect your need for time to recover and be alone as a family :flower:
