People not liking your name choices

Wouldn't even bother telling anyone your names if I was you.

I've given up and people turning their nose up at names I HAVE PICKED to name MY CHILD.

Its none of thier business and so from now on when people ask I just tell them they will have to wait and see once its here. Its not worth me wanting to punch their wrinkled nose when I tell them.

Oh - and we havn't decided on definites yet either. But a few suggestions have had negative comments from both sides of the family and it just riles me!

Grrrrrr!

Call your baby whatever you want - its up to you! x

so they dont like your choice of name-tough its your baby not theirs. my mother HATES our baby's name, and she has made no secret of that fact either but i couldnt give a rats arse what she thinks!!! she asked me 2 days after he was born what had made me choose that so i turned round and said "it was steve's dad's name" and she shut up!!! he is almost 14 weeks old and she only refers to him as baby she wont say his name :wacko:freak!!!!

Names are such a personal thing that no matter what, people will dislike it- that's my feeling. I mean sure, if you pick a super common name like "Daniel" most people will have no problem with it, simply because it's such a COMMON name. If, on the other hand, you pick something more unique, 99% of people will dislike it as most people only like 'different' when it is pretty much what everybody else likes (i.e. 'different' names that are more common than common names- zach or zoe for example)

The names I like, everybody seems to hate, but what odds...at least that means there won't be 4 of them in my child's grade 1 class!

Edit: I am not saying that I dislike the names Daniel, Zach or Zoe- they're all lovely names so don't send me any hate mail...*giggle*

My mother was not a fan of what i chose to name my daughter But she has scince come around you cant please everyone so why bother . My mom usually calls my daughter Jay instead of Jaymee . so do what makes you happy as its your child no one elses

Its always easy for everyone to judge and it annoys me that people think that they have the right to behave in such a manner.

I work with a person who thinks she can comment on everything and it really winds me up!

I just respond dull name dull child and my baby my choice!

Childish but its a personal thing and I would never behave in such a way.

I am having a bad week so I cannot really write this subjectively!

I really and truly don't care which is unusual for me. I LOVE my boy name and if everyone else hates it then they have no taste quite simply  I think one way around this is not to announce it until the birth because then it's too late and they get caught up in the 'awww'.

I LOVE Ozzie!! Really cool and works perfectly with Eddie. We got it about Hebe. Mostly from my Dad who said 'you cant call her Ebay' :dohh:

Ignore them! They just aint cool! :D

If you like it go for it is what I have to say! If Im not wrong its Elvis right? I think its a lovely name and not over used.
x

no way! i wanted elvis for a boy but have been forbidden by the oh. :dohh: he doesnt like it. frankly, if somebody else doesnt like it, TOUGH SHIT! its not their decision. i understand it would be hard if people actually laughed at my choices though. i agree with someones ;ost before this one.. just stop telling people!

Ozzie is a great name!!!! You have whatever you bloody well want!!!! Not many people like Ollie's middle name, Jensen. I don't care lol!!! x

We have decided to keep ours a secret from now on, people can be soo rude and put you off, am crap at keeping secrets though so will tell you she is gonna be called Eloise and I love it!!

I have now stipped telling people IRL because reactions are getting on my nerves:blush:

I looked up Ozzie's name last night and it's the shortened version of Osmond. Our first son Eddie is the shortened verion of Edmond. The more I think about Ozzie's name the more perfect it seems :)

i had this when i told everyone logans name, but i told them it was final n they soon got use to it then wen he was born he was logan all over and they all loved it. x
