Perforated eardrums, throat inflammation - has anyone undergone surgery?

I have two small perforations in my ears, ie small holes. I had fluid in my ear but went to drs again and she said my throats inflammed. has anyone had any experience of this and what caused theres? any idea why my throats inflammed? this all started with a hellish flu
