Hello! Just wondering if anyone has experienced changes in their period since miscarriage. TMI warning

I have PCOS so never had normal periods anyway BUT on Clomid my periods went like this...brown spotting for 3 days, then dark brown and thick (sometimes it wouldn't even soak into the sanitary towel) for 2 days, then lighter for 3 days.

Post miscarriage (one cycle brought on my progesterone, and one post clomid ovulation) they have been very different!! I no longer have the 3 days of spotting and just launch straight into it. It is now a mixture of bright red or dark red but NO brown at all! I'm heavy day 1 then medium flow day 2, light day 3 and then it stops.

So I'm glad my periods are now red and look normal and healthy...but concerned that they are only 3 days long!

I think I'm losing a decent amount of blood, especially in the first day where it literally pools at the bottom of the toilet when I pee!!!

Is it possible to bleed enough in 3 days. Could I be bleeding it all on day 1 rather than spreading it out across 5 days?!

I've read about issues with lighter periods post suction evacuation being caused by scarring.

I did get an infection after my proceedure which has worried me but I had an ultrasound on CD10 and she said my lining looked clean and fresh at 7mm with no sign of scarring. HOWEVER I have read that ultrasound cannot determine whether you have scarring or not.

Anyone have any advice, comments or reassurance to offer?

I'm thinking of getting a private HSG done to check for scarring.:cry:

Don't worry too much before you have any answers. It sounds to me like bright blood is better and healthier. my periods have all been 2-3 days since coming off bcp in September of last year. I'm 32 and had an IUD (non hormonal) for 10 years and then took progesterone only bcps for two years. So, not sure what they would have been but on them they were 4-5 days. I would give yourself one more cycle to see how things level out before you pay for an expensive procedure. I have been toying with the idea of an HSG too because of my ectopic but I'm going to wait until February

It is normal, my periods are pretty much like yours, brown spotting, then brown bleeding, 1 day of light red bleeding then brown spotting for 2 days. I had normal-ish periods when I was on the pill (pcos)

After my D&Cs both times I had red blood for 3 cycles and the flow is kind of heavier than what I'm used to, but then on the 4th cycle it started to go back to the brown spotting cycles.

I ovulate naturally as I never needed assistance to conceive.

When I conceived my boy it was immediately after a chemical pregnancy 5 cycles after going off the pill with very irregular periods.

My 1st mmc was also after a chemical , then the blighted ovum I conceived 13 months after the D&C.

I was on the pill for 8 years before ttc my son, then for 3.5 yrs before we started to ttc no.2
