I don't remember having period cramps like this with my first. I've been having terrible braxton hicks the last 3 or 4 days. Some of them are so intense I don't even think of them as a bh more of an actual contraction because they stop me from moving and talking and I start worry what am I going to do when real labor sets in?

I just talked to my doctor about this. I am pregs with my third and never had these AF like cramps before in my other pregnancies. She said it's contractions but as long as they don't last or get too intense it's just the pre-contractions stuff. Hopefully it's our bodies maybe dilating or loosening up, softening etc for showtime!

I hope it's getting ready for show time! My midwife said more water - I feel like I'm drowning half the time :haha:

Oh I know! I'm like how on earth can I drink any more water! It's all I do!

It sounds like things are gearing up to go! My early labor contractions with my last pregnancy felt like menstrual cramps. I remember in previous pregnancies only having contractions all around my belly, not just down low, so I asked my midwife about that and she said it has to do with all the changes that were happening. Dilation and effacing can sometimes feel like menstrual cramps, I guess, especially if this isn't your first baby. I had them for a couple weeks before I finally went into full blown labor.

I feel so terrible for feeling this way but I just want this baby to come - of course not before she's ready and would do well outside but I'm so tired of being pregnant. I wasn't feeling well at the end of my first pregnancy because of pre-e but this time around I'm in so much pain and discomfort and never feel like I can catch my breath so I hope all of this is my body gearing up.

Today my midwife said baby was so low they did a quick ultrasound because she couldn't find her head and she's deep in my pelvis - but didn't say engaged or what station. Tonight I'm having awful period cramps again but the braxton hicks slowed down.

Iv had this too, I'm now 36 weeks and it radiates around my back and belly and my belly goes rock hard all the time it's exhausting! I'm sat on the couch now having intense period like pain I also feel so nauseous

A exercise ball has helped me with the feeling breathless and some of the pain (obviously not the contractions). I hope you feel better soon
