period delay pills

I'm getting married on Friday my period cycle has changed so much since planning the wedding I am now due to have my period from Friday. The doctor has said I can use these pills you take 3 times a day to delay your period from coming as my first 2 days of my cycle are very heavy and make me feel very drained.
I wondered if anyone had taken these before and how they worked for you?
I'm quite sensitive to anything with a hormone in it I can't use any contraception with a hormone in it.
I've seen on the Internet you can get some effects such as headaches, bloating, sore boob and mood changes. I don't know what to do!!!

I may have to consider going to the doctors and getting these as im due my period when i get married in July and im senstive to anything with hormones in aswell periods seem to go crazy but thinking i may just need to take them reguardless nothing worse then having to deal with bleeding on your wedding day being paranoid.
