Period like cramping and hard bump *updated pg1*

Hi girls hope all mums and babies are well.

Well in the middle of the night last night (about 4am) OH and i were randomly awake and ended up :sex: (lol for the first time in months) :blush:

Well anyway had a few braxton hicks after and then went to sleep. Since about 10am this morning i have had period like cramps all round my lower back and from the bottom of my bump to about 3/4 up my bump.
The cramps are sort of always there but they get stronger every so often ( no particular time pattern) they get worse when i stand up and are more bearable when i sit. My bump has been pretty much continuously hard since the cramping started.

Basically just wanted to know if anyone else has had anything similar to this and did it just wear off, or was there something u did to ease it. I have taken 2 paracetamol but they didnt really help so havent bothered with anymore. Do u think it is just body preparing for labour soon and that having sex has made me a bit crampy or the baby engaging or something.

This is my 3rd baby Eldest is 5 so i dont really remember much about this stage, plus i had to be induced with her and youngest is 1 but i had an emcs with her so i dont really have anything to go on.

EDIT: Well i have had my bath...while i was in the bath the pains were not as annoying and i could ignore them but i have gotten out and they are just the same as before the bath. I am going to watch tv for a bit and then go to bed for some kip coz i not been sleeping well the past few nights. Think i will give the mw a call in the morning if they are still there xx
 
Have a bath and see if that calms them - if so, they are probably just BHs. DTD can really set them off!
If a bath doesn't calm them - I'd call your MW x
 
ok thanks me and OH just getting the girls off to bed although it is really uncomfy to stand up much lol. I will get him to run me a bath xx
 
yes defo try a bath.. then have a lie down on your left hand side for an hour.. see if that helps. Also drink plenty of fluids. Dehydration can make BH's worse. If all else fails and you're still getting tightenings after a couple of hours, then speak to your mw. xx
