period or rest of miscarriage coming away?

Hi all,

I started to miscarry fully 6 weeks ago following a scan at the EPAU which showed the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks (I should have been 10/11 weeks).

Before that it was the light bleed, and then over that weekend I would say most of the miscarriage happened, followed by mid-light bleeding for a week after.

We knew we wanted to try again as soon as we were able, I was just waiting for my next period to know that i was back to 'normal'. I started bleeding 23rd July which would have been about 4 weeks after the miscarriage which seemed normal but not like a normal period, it was light and continued for about a week.

My husband and I decided that we would try and conceive this week - so DTD on wednesday night (hes away a lot with work so its our only shot. usually I take the ovulation tests but I didnt have any so its purey guess work based on increased cm this week and because I THINK its a week since i had my first period.)

So basically im wondering was this a period or perhaps the final part of the miscarriage? After the second scan when they confirmed the sac had now gone they said my lining was still slightly thick so to expect it to come out soon or perhaps in my next period...
What are your experiences of ttc after this and having an unusual period?

I really shouldnt be pinning my hopes on one try ...but im ever hopeful when it comes to these things!

First, I'm very sorry for your loss, mine was quite similar except was a lot more drawn out...Any how, I do believe this is probably your af, my first af afterwards was also very weird and I never ovulated, it happened my 2nd af after as well but I did get my bfp on my 3rd cycle...I think our bodies are wonky after a loss and depending on your age which I believe also plays a role, you might have to wait a little before another bfp but I see no reason not to try, I have personally known women who have gotten bfps right away before af ever came, I myself had a mc years ago in my early 20s and conceived with my oldest daughter on the very first cycle after my loss.

i too had something similar to this. Passed most everything, bled for a week, then had some weird 10 days of light bleeding a couple weeks later. left me saying "what the heck was that?!" I basically only needed a pantyliner. Then 24days later, i had a period. It was very strange. I just attributed the light bleeding to a period, had a short annovulatory cycle. Back to TTC now, i think my cycle has returned to normal. (just finished my period, and was a normal 28day cycle)

I don't have any experience with this yet, but I had a D&C on July 24 and my doctors told me that my first period would probably be really different. It could be really really light, which it sounds like what yours was. I am almost 3 weeks post D&C and the spotting finally stopped last weekend, so I'm just waiting for my first AF now. Hopefully it comes by the end of August. I'm really eager to get back to ttc!

I'm now waiting for AF - still no idea if that was a period and then I ovulated or what that was...I should be due on Wednesday. Trying very hard not to symptom spot!

So is it normal to bleed after a miscarriage has stopped bleeding? I hadn't bled in over a week and I was only 4-5 weeks pregnant when I miscarried but I just started spotting and idk what's going on

Hello Ladies I was just reading the thread, I just had a D&C done 8/18 and I only spotted after, now two days later im bleeding heavier im not sure if its normal or when should I expect it to stop or even when my next AF. before I got pregnant I had no problem with my cycles they were very normal now im just confused

Hi although I didnt have a D&C I'd say that sounded normal its your body expelling everything still as this is still so recent. My miscarriage meant I was on and off bleeding light and heavy for a couple of weeks before my body settled down. I was told to expect a period 4-6 weeks later, and this has been true for me - as since my original post, I've had my next period, and its in line with the last bleed (where I wasnt sure if it was a period or not). I'd say wait til your body settles down and dont count this bleeding as a period as its far too soon. Hopefully you will end up having a couple of weeks break and then you can expect the next bleed you have to be your new cycle...i hope that makes sense, might not be right as everyone is different but this is my experience!

I had 2 D&Cs , 1st time my period started after 4 weeks, this time it started after 3 weeks. I spotted on & off after both D&Cs but it was much lighter than normal period bleeding.
