period pain after d&c

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else had period type pain after a d&c, but which is impossible to be ovulation or period pain if that makes sense.

I had a d&c on 6th april after a suspected molar pregnancy. (It wasn't). But my hcg levels were way high at 134,000. Last week they went down to 24 so i guess they are normal level by now. (it has taken since beginning of april to get my hormone levels down.)

But i figured that if my levels have only been normal for at the very most a week, then i shouldn't be ovulating yet. It just feels like my period is going to start any second and i thought that your new cycle couldn't start until your hormone levels were back to 0-5.

I would really appreciate if anyone has experienced the same pain around the same time after a d&c.

Hi, I can't really answer your questions as I am in a similar boat but thought I'd post you show support!
Exactly a week ago, last Monday my hcg levels were at 40 and yesterday and today I have had quite strong period-like pains. This morning my cm was brown tinged and I thought I might be getting ready for my period but am too, not sure how this could be happening as my hcgs levels were still raised a week ago so there would have been no chance of ovulation??!
I just want my period so we can start TTC again

hey... im kind of in a similar boat. I had my d&c 2 days after you on the 8th april my HCG levels were 28000 at the time.

it will be 6 weeks on wednesday since the procedure and still no AF or sign of AF. i know you can only ovulate when your levels have dropped. and stupidly i havent had my HCG levels tested since. So if i was to ovulate 2 weeks ago which would be 4 weeks after the d&c then surely i should be getting my period now!!!

isnt 4 weeks a long time for your levels to drop?!?!?! this whole thing confuses me xxx

I'm a bit further along than both of you, but in a similar 'halfway' situation!

I was 11 weeks pregnant, but had a D&C on 14th March after our twins stopped growing at 5/6 weeks. No pain or bleeding after which was weird!
I was not offered tests for the HCG level, but kept doing preg. tests until I got a (10 days after D&C). Had a VERY light period on 6th April for 3 days and finally OV test was positive on 18th April. Sadly no at the beginning of this month thought!
I normally get sharp pains at OV time, on right side, although last month they were def. stronger and were on both sides. Not sure if that was due to it being the 1st one in ages?
Have big problem now, this month appear to have OV twice (+ve on 10th May, neg. for few days then +ve again on 14th). Totally confused!!!!
