Period pain and cramps

Hi everyone I had my son 4 months ago and since he was about two months old I just feel like I've got period pain and cramps quite a lot and its giving me an upset tummy. I've just had my period now a day after its finished I've got period pain and the cramps? I was on the pill but stopped it as thought it was causing this but obviously not. I'm not on any contraception now.
